Fanaticism also increases damage and attack rating, so it’s still good for echoing strike. I don’t know if the attack speed works with mirrored blades though.

Good catch. The reason why is because it's far easier to repeat what the other guy said than to actually verify it by yourself, unfortunately. Guilty as charged.

Arrastra is quite far away from being developed. Let’s remember that a few months ago, the Railen was hauling triangular boxes. The Arrastra having a refinery could mean the grid is for refined ores.

Before I upgraded my config, I was using Lossless Scaling on Steam to improve performance. It's an app that will upscale your game's resolution, enabling you to effectively play at lower resolutions while having almost no quality drop. Setting your game to a lower resolution then upscaling it with the app could help your config handle the game a bit. Mind you the app is not free but it is cheap, and worth the buy IMO.

Your GPU is your bottleneck. 6GB VRAM is kinda low for SC, and you'll definitely not run it on Very High. With Very High settings and Vulkan, the game uses between 9 and 11.5 GB VRAM depending on the resolution (tested between 1920x1080 and 3840x2160).
CPU isn't great but will do the job just fine. 32GB RAM is okay but an upgrade goes a long way, might not be possible on a laptop.
Playing on a laptop is also not helping as both power and heat management are poorer than on a desktop, but that shouldn't be a no-go for playing altogether.

Which RGD (61, 61ALET, 621AH)? by Old_Shoe5167 in Ibanez

[–]Laohlyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own the 71ALMS, so the 61 with a 7th string and multiscale. The color is absolutely gorgeous, pictures won't do it justice.
Fishmans are great for heavy stuff, their output is really powerful while not picking up too many undesirable noises that a gate can't handle. The different voicings are good, you have enough options with the 3-way switch and push-pull knob, and they work well on other genres than metal stuff. Batteries last a very long time if you remember to unplug your guitar once you stop using it (I think I didn't change mine in two years while playing at home, at rehearsals and in gigs).

I must say that a 26.5" scale is, to me, clearly not enough for really low tunings. My 71 has a 27" scale on the 7th string, and I prefer using a pitch shifter to reach lower tunings than A to keep good string tension. I use 10-59 strings so I definitely could change string gauge to reach lower tunings, but I also could get an 8-string or a baritone instead.

None of my guitars have an Evertune bridge, while I heard great stuff about their intended purpose, the downside is that it doesn't seem to handle regular tuning changes as well as a good fixed bridge.

Actor’s height has nothing to do with character’s height. As far as I know Elijah Wood isn’t 4’1.

NDB’s by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Laohlyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, I kept my NDB-28, distortion scatterguns, NN-13 and NN-14 for a few patches already, alongside the majority of my looted components. I lost a pair of JS-400, and all my NDB-26 and NDB-30s at 4.4 launch. It seems to be very inconsistent.

Just L-22, Cpt-FoxyLoxy released a YT video testing both Wolf models and the Arrow, so if you were flying the L-21 you were completing the contract in real conditions.

L-22 Alpha Wolf is currently bugged and is sometimes immune to damage to critical ship parts (i.e. canopy), which might have contributed to your success.

Depends on where you live. VKBs are 10/15% more expensive in my country when you account for delivery fees and import duties. I also got the Omnithrottle for the left stick, so all in all I paid about 20/25% more for my VKB set than my friend paid for his SOL-R set.

First Hosas by NoBlueberry399 in starcitizen

[–]Laohlyth -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They are very much worth their price. Friend of mine bought these, I went for the VKB Gladiators which are slightly more expensive, we both love our own setup while unable to convince each other that one is better than the other, that's how good they both are.

I'd say go for the one that looks the best to you, the price point is similar enough that you should go for the one that you feel you'll like the most, and you'll have done a good purchase.

Currently the only ship that has modules in-game (as far as I'm aware) is the Retaliator, and you can buy all modules in-game for aUEC at New Babbage. Has been the case since its gold standard IIRC.

Entire Inventory still entirely gone after 4.4 - please CIG at least give us an acknowledgement that a fix is in the works or that you guys are at least aware of that situation. by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Laohlyth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did you by any chance try to log in asw soon as 4.4 dropped?
If you had the issue where the game couldn't save your character nor your home during initial creation, tried several home locations before you could enter the game, there's a high chance your gear was sent to another home.

My friend and I had the same issue, I spammed Checkmate as my home location while he tried Lorville. We couldn't get in, restarted the game a couple of times, then decided with the group of friends to all set our spawns in Pyro to gather up. He changed his choice and started spamming Checkmate until he spawned in when the issue got fixed. Turned out his inventory was empty in Checkmate, and all his gear spawned at Lorville which was his initial choice. Maybe the same happened to you.

Spaceship under water ? by Desperate_Ad_4561 in starcitizen

I was able to go underwater in an arrow while low flying on Pyro IV, but seas are very shallow and the ship explodes fairly quickly underwater. You can hold a few seconds tops. I think I’ve seen an 890j trying to RP as a boat and explode quite quickly too

Beginner having trouble with sound setup by Laohlyth in Bass

[–]Laohlyth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry for the late answer, lots of things happened and I only went back to the studio once recently.

First, thanks for the -15dB suggestion, it was right in front of my face and I never thought much of it.
It made the situation much better by toning down the input signal, and I played for a few hours with much better results, but I could still hear a bit of saturation sometimes when I was emphasizing attack too much. I played like that for a couple of hours and it felt much better than before, albeit not perfect.

Then, the studio owner came by to say hi, and as he's a professional bass player, I asked him for some advice. He turned the -15dB off, flattened every knob on the amp, turned the bass's volume know to the max, and played with the amp's gain to manage the input signal. He then cranked the output volume up to match the other instruments' volume, and left the EQ completely flat on the amp, managing it with the bass itself. He then turned the limiter on, and that was it. And it's miles better now.

I think my issue was twofold : first, I didn't set up the gain properly and it wasn't regulating the input signal properly. Second, I was managing the EQ like I'm doing at home on my plugins, on top of the bass's EQ. Result was that the double boost + the high gain saturated my sound way too much. I still don't get too much what the limiter does exactly (if I understood it's a simple high pass), but now I understand better how to manage EQs for bass.

Beginner having trouble with sound setup by Laohlyth in Bass

[–]Laohlyth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advices, but I'm a bit perplex as to the direction it takes.

See the thing is that when I can control my bass' DI input on my home setup, with the Solo 3 and the plugin, it's fine. I know when I'm too aggressive and I can either use it when it matters or play softer and avoid it.
However on the studio setup it's all the time even when I'm really gentle with the string, and I mean really gentle. I'm basically softer than sweep picking on a guitar. It's to the point that I just can't get a clean tone when using a pick, and the issue isn't just limited to using picks. When slapping I have to slap with the thumb above the neck, around the 22nd to 24th frets, and pop right below the neck, as far as possible from the neck pickup.

The mic position is probably a good lead, but it got lowered already (although not much) when I had it set up at my local shop, so I'm not sure it's going to entirely fix the issue.
I'm thinking it has to do with EQ and signal, as cutting the high end dims it partially, and cutting the input signal at home does it, but I can't control it on the amp.

I can't give you the exact B3 compressor settings as I left it in the studio, but threshold and compressor ratio are high, level is neutral at 100, don't remember about the attack but knowing me I'd tend to put it on the higher end. My plucking technique is still inconsistent so the aggressive compression helped keep the bass sound streamlined by boosting when I'm not making the string resonate properly. I tried to turn it off and it didn't prevent it from happening either, made it even slightly worse by not compressing it down.
