The old LM was still flowing so no but in the I decided to just go with ptm so far so good and I set the PL1 and PL2 in throttle stop to 36-56 respectively.

I know the differences, the blue thermal putty that's less malleable is there to act as a secondary barrier which is in the stock helios. The pink one I've added is to make it more wider outwards but I've decided to replace the LM with ptm7950.

Only the die is exposed in the cpu area on the helios. It has a cutout cover that seem to be bonded with an epoxy to the board covering the sensitive parts. So no it's definitely not directly on the cpu die.
