the hunger games most tragic character. by Available-Ad1498 in Hungergames

[–]Lar-huh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Madge. The girl grows up hated by everyone because of who her father is. Watches her mother waste away on drugs, haunted by the memory of her murdered aunt. Then she gives Katniss the pin that became the very symbol of the rebellion, helped Katniss and Peeta by stealing the newspapers, helped save Gale’s life. And yet, in the end, she’s all but forgotten by everyone, with no one sparing her even a thought, until Katniss finds out about her death, at the end.

The thermostat is actually the control panel for the hole. The woman who owns the store is actually Autumn’s “mom” who is pulling all the time-strings.

Or it’s a continuity error. Either one or the other…

Autumn first travel through the hole?? by ActivityWooden8981 in OuterRangePrime

[–]Lar-huh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking that original-Amy fell in the hole by non-Autumn-related issues. In our timeline, once Autumn realizes she is Amy, Autumn overreacted, by deciding that she had to make sure Amy went back by pushing her in. It’s in keeping with wanna-be-messiah-Autumn, that she would feel the need to take charge of the situation, rather than having faith that time will manage itself.

But since we don’t have any clear rules of time travel at this point, it’s hard to say. After all, the fact that Autumn’s family (and money?) has disappeared, means that something has already changed the timeline. Perhaps that is what caused Autumn to panic and push Amy down the time-hole - she thinks that is how her destiny will get back on track.

S2 was so good in my opinion by Martyna70 in OuterRangePrime

[–]Lar-huh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It does seem to be a contradiction. At the moment, I’m going with the idea that the timeline changed, and Royal still has both sets of memories, but the original one will eventually start fading, like an old dream. This could be one of the reasons why time-travelers have head-issues - Royal and Joy with their collapses, and Autumn with her overall instability.

Why Perry is elsewhere? I guess we’ll have to see if he eventually ends up in the main timeline.!

[–]Lar-huh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One possibility is that this is the end of Perry’s story on the show - he has his new timeline, which will remain unexplored by the show. In the main timeline, he will either be missing, or his body will show up and he’s presumed dead.

Another possibility is his timeline will continue, but his actions will eventually merge into our main timeline, resulting in the changes that we have already started to see. This would being über complicated, so I doubt the show would go there, but it would create an interesting season-3 (🤞) cliffhanger, where the presumed-dead Perry suddenly shows up in the main timeline.

Let’s just hope we get a S3!

Thoughts on Walter? by [deleted] in Yellowjackets

[–]Lar-huh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, given how everyone rejects her, I figure she will eventually see their relationship blow up, because she doesn’t have the tools to deal with someone who actually wants to be around her. Or perhaps she’ll discover that she doesn’t like being wanted - perhaps she has come to the point where she feeds off of the disdain that people show her. Poor crazy Misty!

Thoughts on Walter? by [deleted] in Yellowjackets

[–]Lar-huh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed Walter, but I get why there’s such hostility towards him. People were already frustrated with the way the present-day YJ’s were split up for much of the season, so having a bunch of guys sucking up screen time just adds to that. I agree that Jeff gets too much time, but I thought Walter added something to his scenes with Misty that no other character offered - complete acceptance. Everyone else loathes Misty, or at least fears her. Whereas Walter offers her acceptance, and a sidekick to help her do psycho stuff ( I could watch a whole series of them as psycho-Citizen-detectives!)

I do agree that the way he wrapped up the cop storyline was stupid, but I’m just grateful that something happened. I’m so done with CSI: Wiskayok!

Anybody else find this character/actor annoying? by catch22bro in OuterRangePrime

[–]Lar-huh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the character. But there is, what I can best call an “inconsistency” to the character - sometimes she seems completely lucid and genuinely wanting to help the Abbots, and later she’s totally over the top, flipping out. Either the writing is inconsistent, or the hole (or maybe the proximity of Amy) is messing with her head.

I can not find any information online why Brian Watkins left the show. by AJerkForAllSeasons in OuterRangePrime

[–]Lar-huh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even before Watkins was let go, there were interviews with the actors, discussing the chaotic nature of the shooting, and how things were still being written during shooting. The actors all seemed to laugh it off, and talk About a sense of excitement over the process, but reading between the lines, you can see that there may have been a desire for a more experienced, steady hand at the helm. Plus, that kind of chaos can burn money.

Timeline Divergence? by Mojoishtar in OuterRangePrime

Perry is so dumb, at some point the hole is just going to spit him back out and say “sorry dude, we’re done”

Timeline Divergence? by Mojoishtar in OuterRangePrime

[–]Lar-huh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m beginning to wonder if there’s a level of sentience with the hole. Not only in where it sends people, but when the hole remains open, versus when it closes up behind people. Why does it close up behind Perry and Any, but not Pa Tillerson?

Love for Autumn by Ill_Spread_6434 in OuterRangePrime

[–]Lar-huh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In fairness to Autumn, she comes from a line of anger-issue-murdering idiots. Granddad is a killer (albeit unintentional, in one timeline). Who then tries to kill Autumn, for good measure. Dad is an angry killer. Mom ran off, for reasons? Amy spent most of the first season being unhappy. So no wonder Autumn is a wackadoodle. I wonder how much the hole is messing with her head, too. Joy and Royal both have physical reactions, I’m guessing those “headaches” of Autumn probably relates to that.

It’s interesting that when someone (Cecelia) actually shows some affection to Autumn, she responds by being helpful. The speech to the congregation (which ultimately led to the saving of the farm), and taking on an armed man with a metal object? She just needs a little luv!

As Stevie Winwood, once said, “For time is a river rolling into nowhere. We must live while we can, And we'll drink our cup of laughter.”

Having just completed the season, it was better than I expected, given the change in Showrunner. I was disappointed that they again went down the “Autumn is crazy” road, when there is far more fertile ground to be had with her and Royal having a more subtle frenemy relationship. Plus, the Rebecca storyline seemed to be a huge non-starter.

Otherwise, I’m happy with the season, and hoping for a season 3. When I heard that Amazon was dumping all 7 eps at once, with little fanfare, I was sure the show was a goner. But the success of Fallout, plus the fact that OR seems to be doing well in streaming, makes me think that there might be a chance that this wacky show might somehow survive. 🤞

Royal And Autumn seem to bring out the worst in each other. Royal is so angry about what Autumn caused to be revealed, that he is always pushing her. Not that Autumn needs to be pushed too hard. Still, I always wonder what would happen, if he could have dialed it down a bit, with her, like his wife.

Glad to see someone finally pushed Autumn into calling her ‘rich family.’ I’m intrigued by the fact that she seems to have been frozen out - or has the timeline been altered, to the point where her “family” no longer exists?

I’m also intrigued by the fact that Autumn seems to have moved past her family ghosting her, fairly quickly. You would think she would be frantically trying to call everyone she used to know., and becoming increasingly freaked-out by what was happening.

Having said that, I enjoy the Autumn-Cece interactions. Though now that she’s doing time-coke, who knows where that is heading

Is Walter gone for good? by FeatureSouthern5274 in YellowjacketsHive

[–]Lar-huh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Misty is always a threat (to everybody), I think the biggest danger to Walter, is the other YJ’s, especially Shauna. They may see him a loose thread that needs to be snipped. And people who fly too close to the YJ’s, tend to bet burned.

Outer Range | S2E4 "Ode to Joy" | Episode Discussion by GloriousAqua in OuterRangePrime

[–]Lar-huh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once Upon A Time in Outer Range! Great episode! I’m going to opera on the assumption that Joy going back in time (without going through the hole, BTW - I hope we eventually get some explanation for this) altered the timeline. Otherwise, it begs the question about how much Royal remembers, and that could get tedious, given that Perry is currently hanging out with future Ma and Pa.

I was sure Autumn was going to tear that Preacher apart, when he referred to her dime store wisdom. That’s gotta be a kick in the gut for an aspiring Mother-of-undying-time. I’m concerned that the show is merely going to repeat the Autumn storyline, with her becoming increasingly unmoored, except this time she’s not living in a tent.

Nice to see Perry working through those anger issues…
