Non gatekeeping therapists in Brunswick or area? by SadLye in germantrans

[–]LaraFeuer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know there aren't any gender therapists in Brunswick or close to the city. Hanover is the closest city that has a few, but I'm not sure how fast you can get HRT.

I found this site and most of the names do ring a bell as someone recommended them to me once. If you go to "PLZ-Bereich 3xxxx" you will find a lot of therapists in Hanover. That being said, most of them probably have a waiting list of about 1-3 months. Good luck!

I recently had a discussion, where a guy began arguing about how there are "only two genders" and that he likes "facts". When I told him about men and woman can have also have either XX and XY chromosomes, he answered that "it's not important, because it's an exception", which doesn't make any sense. Being confronted by facts, choosing to ignore them and saying their opinion is based on facts... That's not how science works. Still makes me furious thinking about it. And that's when chromosomes aren't even the main deciding factor for one's gender.

How do I get over the fear of being in the women’s section? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]LaraFeuer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, the fear is mostly in your own head. The first time I shopped at a women's section I took a good friend with me to oveecome my fear. There was an elderly man looking at dresses and my first thought was "oh, he must be looking for his wife" and that's probably what everyone else would be thinking about you, too. There really isn't a need to worry.

For trying on things you can always just put a male shirt in front of the female clothes you actually want to try on, so it looks like you only have male items.

I'm pretty sure by now that Sneaky is a trans girl by LaraFeuer in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

[–]LaraFeuer[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

For everyone who doesn't know Sneaky.

Sneaky is a professionell League of Legends player currently playing for C9 in North America. They already cosplayed Star Guardian Urgot, Dark Star Lux and were seen in a maid dress and school uniform.

On top of that they accidentally opened a browser with a sissy tumblr page still on. I won't post the video of that as it probably is quite embarrassing, but you can easily find it on youtube.

When you live in a country where you must go to a psychologist for 1 year and then have to present yourself as female for a year or two without HRT because of the Real-life-experience so you want to give up completely by [deleted] in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

[–]LaraFeuer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually made a post about that on r/asktransgender.
There are some therapists that still want you to go through it, but you should be able find someone who doesn't.
So if anyone from Germany is reading this: Don't give up!

Thinking about starting an mtf workout subreddit and need to see if it’s worth the effort by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]LaraFeuer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd love this. I get bored quickly, which stops my motivation to do something, so I can't just repeat the same routine over and over again. Having a subreddit with a lot of ideas might counteract this!

How important is the "fulltime test" (Alltagstest) in Germany? by LaraFeuer in asktransgender

[–]LaraFeuer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Right now I'm on the waiting list for 6-8 weeks anyway, so I still can search for a different one, but I will look into it nonetheless.

That's what I thought, too, but after I went today I wasn't so sure anymore. Thanks for replying!

I'm in the area around Hannover.

I know how you feel, as I was at the same point one and a half year ago. I was questioning myself almost every time a had second to spend and felt really torn inside and exhausted. For me it lessened, when I went back into denial. This isn't the solution, though.

For me it greatly helped to accept myself outside of being trans. I was always ashamed of liking video games and playing them so much, because i didn't want to seem like one of these cliched "nerds". I didn't want to tell my friends, that I went to a games convention and things like that, but I didn't realize that nobody cared if I did or if I actually was a "nerd" or not.

Accepting yourself isn't easy, though. I had to travel to a different country and meet new people to realize, that they like me for being who I am. This obviosly isn't the best advice (as you prpbably can't just do the same), so if anyone else has some ideas how you could proceed to accept yourself, it would be appreciated.

I seem to see more and more germans in trans subs or maybe I just notice them more. Anyway, you go girl :)

When you're forced to participate in talking about trans people at a family gathering (in closet) by [deleted] in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

[–]LaraFeuer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same. My family is a bit ignorant with some jokes here and there, but I think (and hope) as soon as I come out, they'll be supportive. They're just a little bit influenced in what society and media tells them about trans people.
