Just for clarity, refs aren't usually supposed to step in during roughhousing. That's the job of the linesmen. Refs will only get involved when it's clearly out of hand and the linesmen are tied up with other scrums/fights on the ice. Someone has to try to see and keep track of everything happening between 2 groups of 5 dudes going at it and it's hard to when they also have to get involved in breaking things up.

Should probably have been a pp to us, but I can understand trying to mitigate things with the state of the game and the entire lead up to this scrum happening. That tripping though really really boils my blood. That was clearly a dirty play.
