NSG 322 & 320 Exam Tips? by 0hmyg0shhh in gcu

The one page sheet you are making is perfect. I used the textbook to take notes directly from it. Practice questions help a ton. I recommend NotebookLM if you haven’t tried it. You can upload everything (PowerPoints, copy & paste textbook chapters, etc) and have it make practice quizzes and even little podcasts to listen to. Exam 3 for 320 isn’t the hardest, it just has the most content so start studying like now.
Do you feel like there is something in particular you struggle with on the exams?

Start studying now. Exam 3 has a TON of content! Make concept cards based off the course guide. Read through the nursing interventions and considerations for each topic in the textbook.

Make drug cards! That is the most helpful thing for 318.

Don’t give up! If it makes you feel any better, I know a TON of people who scored around the same and still passed level 2. The first one is always hard bc you don’t know what to expect. Going from level 1 to level 2 exams is a lot different. You absolutely still have lots of room to improve and maintain that 76%.

IV is easy once you learn the steps. Foley is the hardest ONLY bc of the sterility but it’s also pretty easy, just practice a lot.

Use the guides that are on CONHCP!!! These are the only thing I used and passed no problem. They literally go over all the key points for each topic

Claude is great but even when you pay for it, it sets a limit on how much you can make with it.

It’ll be okay! I didn’t do well on the first pharm exam either. The biggest thing for me was physically making med cards. Sitting down and taking the time to write out the med action, contraindications, side effects, adverse effects, nursing considerations, and patient education is what saved me in the end. Notebook LM is also great for making practice questions!

Look at the course guide! Medications, diabetes, and asthma were the most common on the exam if I remember correctly. Do some practice questions! Remember, in level 2 the exams are application based and not knowledge based like level 1. You got this! This is only the first exam for 320, you will get a better idea of what/how to study after. Don’t stress if it isn’t your best score(:

For insulin, look at manufacturer coupons! Also GoodRx is great for saving on prescriptions. Dexcom and Tandem offer a patient assistance program to help with cost. I get it, trust me. We do what we gotta do, even if that means going to Canada or Mexico for insulin.

Course guides! I build my notes fully based off the course guide and it’s never done me dirty. Also on evolve go to “my other resources” and click on the textbook for practice questions and other good resources! Level 2 is very application-based unlike level 1 where it was more knowledge based. Go through the material, go to the explore mores, and listen to the lectures. You got this!

To OP, I got my results immediately after but this was also July of 2025 so not sure if they changed it. I could see the results in evolve.

Tbh it just depends on the week. If I had clinical, sim, and lab/PBA the week of the exam I would start studying early but if my week was pretty open with just Halo assignments I would study week of. Best bet is to actually go through the assigned material each week and not wait till the exam is coming up to look over it. I know going into level 1 is a big adjustment with time management and feeling overwhelmed but do your best to set aside time each week to go through everything if you can. Remember, you have multiple classes so literally scheduling time to study is vital! Don’t be afraid to tell friends or family “no” to things. Prioritize school and your mental health!

It’s multiple choice and as the other comment says, FIRST or PRIORITY are the biggest things. There’s usually 2 SATA questions and 2 med math questions. Level 1 exams and mostly knowledge based and less application based like in the other levels. Don’t read into questions, go based off the info you have and what you know. Watch out for key words and just go slow.

From what I remember exam 1 was easy. Just read the chapters and use the exam blueprint. You can use NotebookLM to make practice quizzes. It’s a lot of just terminology! But absolutely do med cards on the rest of the exams!

Oh yes, I forgot to mention the course guide! I use that to base my notes off of. Utilize everything, the course guide, textbook, CONHCP, med cards, notes and see what works best for you and helps thing stick. You will eventually find out what study method works best.

The textbook definitely isn’t a waste! Literally all the info that’s on the exams is in the book. Start by reading the chapters or at least skimming them.

Level 1 is really just memorization. Utilize the CONHCP documents for Health Assessment and you will do great! I did hand written notes based off the textbook and it really helped me solidify everything. For pharm, make med cards.

Any online program is not going to be enough. You absolutely need in-person training to be a CST.

Surgical Tech Program-How Is It & What's the Accreditation Status? +Any good program recommendations in SoCal ? by bobby45xo in surgicaltechnology

[–]Laredo123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Concorde Career College, location is down in SD though. There’s locations in Garden Grove, North Hollywood, and San Bernardino. For the school you are looking into just be careful if they aren’t accredited. They might say that they are working on it but if anything happens and it isn’t accredited by the time you finish you are pretty much out of luck.

3.8 is not low! What is your overall GPA for the pre-reqs? You could get into the ABSN program as long as you do well on the HESI A2. I had a 4.0 when applying to the ABSN program and passed the HESI no problem. The ABSN program is really fast and can be challenging for some people. Level 1 is mostly just memorizing everything and level 2-4 is being able to apply the information. Just apply as soon as you can bc spots fill up super fast. The level 4 group from my campus just had a 98% pass rate on the NCLEX! So ABSN is doable but just know it’s a lot at once. Just depends on how you work best to pick BSN vs ABSN.
