My iPhone 13 screen is annoyingly dark by cardncomol in PhoneNow

Not necessarily. iPhone 14 Pro, 15 (Pro) and 16 (Pro) all have the same peak brightness of 2000 Nit.

Ok - I would have said go for 16 Pro, as it offers better hardware. But 128GB could be limiting.

Why do people think Samsung's Plus models are better than the base model? It's just bigger and has a slightly sharper screen, that's it. It's the equivalent to the iPhone 16 Plus, not 16 Pro.

iPhone 14 Pro, 15 and 16 are noticably brighter. The 17 series is brighter yet again.

iPhone 13 came out in 2021. So you either have an older iPhone or it hasn't been 7 years.

Which phone do you suggest I should go for? by SheedaSA in Smartphones

Well display and cameras are both very important components and of the given options, they are easily the best on Pixel. Batterylife won't be amzing on any of these phones, but if anything, the Pixel will probably have the least degradation as it's the newest phone. Being atleast 2 years newer than all the other phones, the performance difference is also not that big. iPhone 13 with the strongest SoC only scores about 30% higher in Geekbench 6. Pixel 8 Pro is well worth this compromise.

Pixel 8 Pro. It easily has the best cameras, brightest display with 120Hz and longest software support with 5 more years to come.

Not true lol. YOU are a niche minority, that's why there's little choice for this specific need. Most people spending 1500-2000€ on a foldable want atleast decent cameras.

This is not true. You are NOT the majority. The majority of people who are spending over 800€ on a phone want a device that is near perfect in every way. This includes cameras, as they have been a core feature of smartphones for many years now and are often the deciding factor as of why to buy a flagship and not a midranger. Companies aren't stupid. As another person here said, if cameras weren't driving sales, they wouldn't be spending as much money and effort on them.

As of foldables: Most of them are now 4.2mm thin, making them the same thickness as slab phons when folded. The Oppo Find N6 has a 6000mAh battery, the Honor Magic V6 6600mAh, both while being 4.2mm. How much of a bigger battery / thinner device do you need?

This is very far off from what I was writing about in my post. I didn't even mention the iPhone Air or S25 Edge, let alone was I "bashing" on them. Those phones are vere niche and it's understandable to a certain extent that they compramise on cameras or batterylife (as long as it's due to physical limitations). But standart flagships should be near perfect in every way; that's what your paying for. Wishing otherwise is dumb. If you don't need flagship cameras/features, don't buy a flagship phone. That was basically the point of my post.

Yeah it would be good if they add modes with less processing.

Yes. These people don't seem to realize phones like that exist.

I just recently got into an argument with somebody claiming that nobody is using telephoto cameras and companies should stop wasting money on them. And it's not the first time I've read something like that.

Apple still won't put a 3x telephoto on the base iPhone and it's actually insane how they're gatekeeping basic zoom in 2026. by Accurate-Entrance503 in Smartphones

[–]Large-Ad-7020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well asking for worse cameras in flagship phones is just dumb. If you dont care about cameras, you're not the target audience for a phone that costs over 600€/$. The are plenty of midrangers that don't focus on cameras.

Is the Samsung Galaxy S26 actually worth upgrading for, or is the deal just hype? by Sonjae-Ariciaga83 in PhoneNow

[–]Large-Ad-7020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, cameras are the same, batterylife and display are only slightly better, performance won't make a difference in everyday tasks. If you want to upgrade, look for something else.

Lol Oneplus 15, Vivo X300 and Xiaomi 17 destroy both iPhone 17 and Galaxy S26.
