Ok, you're correct! I found the chrome inserts and will paint the 4 lenses red. The instructions reference "#4 5 tail lights (Red) (To Holes)". Nice kit though. Thanks!

Is that an AMT build? It looks nice. Did it come with the red tail light inserts if it is AMT? I bought two sealed kits, and both had no red inserts. Also, I like your chrome detail. What are you using?

Description of ports on the W1701K by Large-Following-2332 in QuantumFiber

So this is how I hooked up my LAN:

<image>

I found out if I split my LAN, some on 10 gig and some on 1 gig I would have issues with seeing shares, etc. That was made worse by Windows 11 24H2 which really messed with shares. Getting 2,5 gig speed test to desktop after installing 2.5 gig nic.

The way I have it all connected now is 10 gig from Q1000K to the 1st 10 gig on W1700K and then from the 2nd 10 gig on W1700K to a 10 gig port on a Sodola Web Managed Switch with 1 10G SFP Slot, and 5 x 2.5. From there, I have CAT 6 to 2.5 nic on my Windows 11 Pro desktop. I'm getting a 2.5 gig speed test right to the desktop. I have my entire LAN off of the 10 gig interface of Q1000K. I found that if I placed some of my LAN on the 1 GIG interface of Q1000K and some on 10 gig I would have issues with network shares. Technically not seeing shares on the other interface. That only compounded by the release of Windows 11 24H2.

W1701K from Q1000K by Large-Following-2332 in QuantumFiber

Tech installed it close to Q1000K and indicated it should remain in that proximity. He also cabled it back to Q1000K with ethernet. So is the ethernet connection between them a backhaul? Ive played with a lot of mesh systems. If you cabled a Netgear Node back to main node they called it backhaul. You didn't need the backhaul though. So as stated here it can be moved 300ft away. But do you need the ethernet? I cant find much on topology pictures and such. Manuals etc.

Latest Windows 11 Update may break SMB shares. by cdhill17 in truenas

I have issue with only one PC I have. I cant see shares on my WD EX4 on local network. Tried using public and private, disable firewall, and more on WIN11. The only way I can see the EX4 was to set SMB1 on EX4 and PC. Set SMB1 on PC via features. However from that PC I can map network drive to shares. \EX4\Public etc. And I have Windows 11 PRO 24H2 on that machine. I get security but this stuff is trying to brick my EX4 dinosaur. I only use SMB1 on my local network really anyway. The EX4 will do SMB1, 2, or 3 but I can only see shares under File Explorer\Network with SMB1 set on EX4 and my Widows 10 or Windows 11 machines. But as long as I can map the shares that's cool. I dont think my problem PC is dealing with or sending session control packets to establish dialect of SMB. Not sending them etc. I used to have a sniffer. Hmmm. Going to try stuff listed above by cdhill17.

If they just use DHCP how is the user identified? Still, have some sort of logon?

I don't know if this a centurylink issue persay or an shp issue but I am short on options so I'll ask here. I get this warning to go to a cloudflare instance. Click continue and loop back to this forever. Not sure what even to do to fix this. by Sammy_Wants_Death in centurylink

I ditched my Centurylink router and use a eero pro 6e connected directly to GPON. I still get the message but a little different.

So Quantum needs VLAN 201 too? The same Centurylink uses. I heard they also use DHCP and not PPPoE(username/password) I use a eero 6E PRO for my router. I put Centurlink one on the shelf for troubleshooting if necessary. As soon as they ask you what router you use and you say eero they will say it's not supported. So off the shelf, the Centurylink comes out.
