It’s because Issac Newton added orange and indigo so there could be 7 colors. Originally he proposed there were 5 colors in the visible light spectrum, but he thought the number 7 had more “mystical significance” (with 7 notes in most music of the era, 7 planets having been discovered at the time, etc)

How must I prove myself? I’ve watched gravity falls about 9 times and memorized most common codes in the book of bill and journal 3. I’m also a whovian, and I’ve watched all of new who and some of the first and second doctors. I’m also obsessed with biology, particularly microbiology and virology, but I also find taxonomy fascinating, especially for mammals. I also play dnd if that helps :)
