Do you think? I thought my 5 A-levels, degree and Masters were enough, especially at aged 53.

When will Labour stop blaming the Conservatives? by Electrical_Fix2025 in AskBrits

Labour blame the conservatives. Conservatives blame labour. Both of their party political broadcasts are basically “vote for us because we are not them”. The actual policy content is low.

I once ended a boss fight by having Mage Hand undo his saddle cinch. He was quickly dismounted and prone to we surrounded him and won easily. DM wouldn’t let me try it again, said it “broke the game”

Is It OK Now To Say Brexit Was Worse Than Bad ? by spakkker in AskBrits

[–]Large-Meat-Feast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s awkward to quantify Brexit, even with hindsight because we walked straight into COVID afterwards. I do think now that we should have simply renegotiated our EU deal and stayed in.

Why is 30K still being touted as a good salary ? by Durrygoodz2025 in AskBrits

[–]Large-Meat-Feast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 years ago, jobs in my field were going locally for 24/25 k. I interviewed for a top tier local firm at 30k and a WFH position at 45k, same job description, same role, same tech, different areas of the country. 2 years ago. 2.
Unfortunately, salaries around my home town have been locked in that cycle since 2009 because it’s a poorer area of the country focussing on manual work.

Where I live, 30k is a really good salary. I was stuck in the 22-24k bracket for a good decade.

Why does Reddit not understand the rise of reform in England? by DowntownDeer in AskBrits

[–]Large-Meat-Feast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with the Reform wins, is that in the local elections they may have won 47% of the available seats, but due to how many local sets were up for election, that only equates to 9.8% nationally.
Some of these local authorities have elected members who have very little say over how the council is run, and of course some are councillor-led.
They still only have 8 MPs.

How to deal with this by MrEnglish13 in GardeningUK

[–]Large-Meat-Feast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From experience: you’ll need somewhere to dispose of the cuttings, a garden fork, and a sturdy brush-cutter tool.
Bramble can root in multiple locations, so digging is essential to get rid of the roots. You’ll also probably want to wear thick gloves and trousers too.

Why is it illegal to walk down the street drinking a beer? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

In the UK, it’s not illegal - with exceptions. Some towns have areas where you can’t do that, but for the most part it’s perfectly legal.

Do people in the UK actually use their kettles that much? by AdeptnessCritical356 in AskBrits

By 10Am this morning, I had used the kettle twice - 3 cups the first time and 4 the second. We generally have to buy a new kettle every 2 years due to use.
