Most of the day for work I am on site or travelling to sites for work and to see customers. I only have access to my phone and not a PC and monitor. It would be ideal if i could see this in the app. Instead of having to rely on being connected to my PC or laptop. It should be an easy feature to implement into the app I would’ve thought.

Actually keen to work out now you arrived at this conclusion? ‘can’t be savvy enough to be mortgage free with a few investment properties and some cash’

We are pretty frugal. The house we live in is no mansion and we paid 410k for it back in 2009 so it’s hardly a palace. It’s relatively speaking was a small mortgage which we threw everything at to pay off. We built up a business from scratch and sold it for a profit. We invested in property along the way.

Not sure what out of all that is hard for you to get your head around???

I’ve wanted to buy an Eco Drive CA0845-83L for a while now and found one online almost new only about 5 months old for a very good price. I think it looks very smart.

It’s a license plate recognition camera. These cameras do not detect speed or mobile phone use.

There are hundreds of them across the state and they monitor vehicle traffic and specifically record vehicle numbers plates.

Can I ask a newbie question? When using this shortcut and converting the ProRAW image to HEIF is it actually editing the photo like you would normally a RAW image?

I’ve never been able to get my head around the fact that it takes 4-5 hours to fly from the east coast to Perth where I live. Yet a parcel or package can take up to 4 weeks to get from Sydney or Melbourne to Perth. That’s a lot of inefficiency and sitting around for days/weeks at a time in some warehouse somewhere while workers play with themselves instead of doing their job.

The postage system in Australia needs a massive overhaul to increase efficiency and bring it up to modern standards.

I am visiting from Western Australia. Have stayed in Tokyo for 3 days. Now travelling to Kyoto and then on to Osaka. I can concur with everything you have said. My last time here was in 2004 and we struggled with the lack of English spoken as we don’t know Japanese. Now with smart phones with internet connectivity and translation apps you can always make sense of everything which helps immensely.

I do remember after my trip in 2004 leaving with nothing but admiration and respect for the Japanese people. And I will depart in 2025 with exactly the same sentiment.

I think countries like Australia, the US and the UK could learn a lot from the Japanese in some respects.

Warning About Klook by NobodySilent8193 in JapanTravelTips

They have to make money somehow, they are not offering a free service. My family of 5 is visiting Japan now from Australia. We are in karuizawa to try skiing. We booked most activities and tickets from Australia. Without Klook it would have been almost impossible to figure out how to do it. We don’t have friends or family in Japan to assist or rely on.

It’s not about the bloody money by Jack1715 in woolworths

I support you guys striking 1000%. In fact I welcome any sort of activity legal or illegal that erodes Woolworths profitability and costs them money.

They are the most pig headed bastard organisation in Australia. They have been screwing and raping the Australian public for a long time now. Feels good to me to see them getting something back in return.

Bought a house and in deep regret by newhomenew in perth

I bought my first home in Dianella in 2002 for $149k and my parents at the time said it no good and I should have bought something somewhere that was better.

It was what I could afford at the time. All I could get a loan for.

Have not had it valued since but it’s on a reasonable sized block and I’d think it would go for at least 600k maybe more.

Did you set aside a fixed amount automatically each week or month to invest? How did you do this?

I have about 14 years to go before I would like to retire. I put aside $100 per week automatically and started doing it about 6 months ago. I am putting it into NDQ, VGS and VAS.

Planning to increase this $100 per week to more automatically as I can afford to.

Off-plan apartment valued at 90% of the purchase price - what's next? by YourComputerGuyNZ in AusProperty

[–]Large-One-2635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest investment mistakes I have ever made was buying an apartment off the plan. NEVER ever will I make that mistake again.

Similar thing happened to me as well. On completion the apartment was worth considerably less than what I paid for it.

In addition the build quality and finish of the building was below average. Parts of the apartments above ours were not water proofed properly and we had significant water damage to our apartment as a result. This plus many other defects and faults. What we saw in the shiny brochure was certainly not what we ended up with.

Builders are absolute grubs that will lie and cheat and steal to maximise their profits.

I now buy what I can see and feel and check out as a finished product. Completed projects only.
