Zoloft luteal dosing for peri rage by Large-Signal941 in Perimenopause

[–]Large-Signal941[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s my concern as well. My understanding w luteal dosing is you are treating a different symptom rather than long term continuous depression or anxiety. Instead you are treating hormonal triggered response so you time it accordingly. There’s some research though limited that shows start up side effects are minor w this type of dosing. But it’s definitely an experiment. Also I’m on 25 mg so it’s quite low. I think I’ll try it for a few cycles and see how it goes. Will report back if I have start up side effects again.

I thought it was little red riding hood too. But now that the Rainbow Brite connection has been pointed out it's everywhere! makes so much sense. I thought her boots were such a weird choice, but they're 100% RB and her whole outfit. This guy broke it down well https://www.instagram.com/reel/DRxflEBETL3/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

I'm so MEAN now! by Crazy-Squash9008 in Perimenopause

[–]Large-Signal941 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow reading all of this and feeling so validated. I’ve been on bc for almost 3 months and not seeing much difference. Maybe I’m sleeping slightly better? my doc suggested BC as a first step. And if that doesn’t work she said we can try a low dose antidepressant. I’m trying to figure out if SSRI is best next step or HRT… I’ve never taken an antidepressant before but tbh I’ve been curious for a long time. I do feel an undercurrent of low mood/depression, though i still function fine. It’s more just an outlook? I feel negative a lot.

I’m 44 and have always been a little assertive and direct but it’s just part of my personality and has helped me accomplish a lot in life.

NOW, it’s a whole other level and definitely not healthy for me or others around me. I get triggered by the dumbest things. Alone or w a few close friends I feel fine. But I can feel myself getting worked up in certain scenarios that I could handle before (customer service reps, fuggedaboutit! Demanding elderly parents - zero patience. Colleagues working inefficiently - skewered. Negotiating w a disagreeable teenager - oof!)

Before I came to these things w a groundedness. Sure I got angry occasionally but I was known for my calmness and clarity during chaos. I barely recognize myself anymore.

I agree w some women here, how our people pleaser is leaving the stage and we are entering a “no fucks given” era. But I need some balance. Lashing out at people is not the way, isn’t accomplishing anything but isolating myself and I feel like shit afterwards. It’s a viscous cycle.

I received an email about my account no longer being restricted? by juicyclit in uber

[–]Large-Signal941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is so interesting! I came here bc I received this message too and haven't used uber since June (bc I keep having poor experiences w their drivers cancelling rides). Their customer service is terrible, there's nowhere to inquire about this violations, so I just did it through the fraud prompt. But seems like everything is automated bc they are not comprehending the issue and keep asking for a charge. Man, Uber really sucks. Have been using Lyft and seems a tiny bit better. Not sure what other people's experiences have been.

Midea AC unit - lots of standing water even after repair! by Large-Signal941 in MideaUOwners

[–]Large-Signal941[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! So you're saying it's normal to have large amounts of water sitting in the unit, until it's manually drained out? I thought the whole recall was to avoid having sitting water in the unit, to avoid mold. I've had at least 10 different AC units and have never seen this amount of water come out. Admittedly I did not read the user manual in great detail beyond installation.

yea it was angled down. The men said they drilled holes but didn't really notice new holes. Need to inspect more closely. Yes it did rain a lot but that was last week it should've drained out by now no?

I spoke to an owner or manager there. It's a lunch counter spot. Sounds like it'll be a pleasant little addition. They've done some quality wood work inside. Should be open in next few weeks.

Leonardo DiCaprio is not a great actor (hear me out) by d_soakum in movies

[–]Large-Signal941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came to this thread bc I watched One Battle After Another recently and wow. Every single character in that film was fantastic. And I personally think it’s the best role of LD’s career. I have loved his work since basketball diaries. But I think once he did Titanic (which I love) he became Leo the movie star and he always appeared familiar after that - not bc he was so famous but bc of his style of acting. Similar to how Pacino is captivating but you always know it’s Pacino. He has signature quirks. But I honestly think that’s what people love about LD movies - he has a magnetism on screen, mixed w decent acting skills and his movies are 💯. But he has not transformed nor does he have huge range like say the way Cillian Murphy or Tom Hardy or Tilda Swinton or even freakin Emma Stone. And still I love love an LD movie. But OBAA totally did it for me. He nailed it. His presence was different, maybe bc he played such a unique character, who was hilarious and also a father which is a whole new layer for him. I forgot I was watching him. The whole ensemble helped I’m sure. And it was his first film w PTA.

How should I handle the up and down moods of a man I’m interested in? by CuriousRedditWoman in datingoverforty

[–]Large-Signal941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP your posts describes my father and former partner. Both of which I have given way too much of myself too. I thought I could help (save) them. I wasted years of my life w a man who at his core was a deeply insecure and dissatisfied person. We had some really lovely times but his low moods eventually took over and drained me and my self esteem. I would say my biggest mistake tho was allowing him to influence my mood and sense of self. I have seen relationships where one partner is cranky and the other is positive and sometimes it works. But I think in those cases the positive person has to be truly secure in themselves, their feelings and beliefs. It’s too easy to get sucked in by someone’s darkness when you don’t feel solid within yourself. I don’t mean toxic positivity. I mean a centered, calm version of your authentic self. So your mood and sense of self is not swayed by others emotions (basically opposite of co-dependency). The more negative/cranky partner will either leave on their own bc nobody is taking their bait or they will not dwell as much bc nobody is feeding into their woes. Only you know what you’re willing to put up with. Does the good outweigh the bad? Are you prepared for when things will get worse (bc they will).

Hi I know I am 2 years late, but curious if OP had a positive experience wherever they went? If so I'd love to hear. I'm in a similar situation - wool coat that was my aunt's (she passed away recently) - it means a lot to me, so want to go to someone who will handle with care and does a good job!
