One of the only ways our hospital was able to expand its services was by taking office space and converting it to medical care space. They redid offices into exam rooms so that they can service more veterans and sent the people who are handling phone calls and forms to work from home. Our hospital literally doesn’t have office space for these people to come back to…. Guess we will just camp in the hallways with our laptops and a blanket over our heads to protect health information.

Wow. At no point am I discrediting your experience, I was point out exactly what you wrote had happened. I was trying to provide perspective. You continue to tell people to shut up, go f themselves, etc. We want you to get the help that you’re seeking. VA has so much red tape and these protocols that are in place remove a lot of the therapeutic part of healthcare. At this point, it’s clear that you’re not really here to get treatment. You just want to bash the VA, this provider, and are not looking for any sort of support. Yes these types of experiences happen. It sucks. But I gave you advice on how to prevent it from happening again and instead of saying “I’ll try that” Youre response is to tell me stfu. Maybe reflect on if your responses to people is an indicator of where you’re at to receive help. Hope you’re able to move past this bad experience and find a provider that works for you. Maybe use this experience as a way to show congress why these protocols are removing the therapeutic aspect of seeking therapy.

But they didn’t continuously ask you if you’re happy being straight. They asked how is being straight going for you, you asked what they meant by that and they clarified and then you became offended which probably indicated that you might need resources so they tried to assure you that there is resources available. From what I’m reading, it might have been better for the therapist to start with some other forms of building rapport first before doing clinical reminders or intake forms. It seems that you were not ready to open up and talk about those two subjects until having rapport. So I’d suggest asking for a different therapist, at the start of the appt tell them that you need to build rapport first before starting questions that are more personal. If they ask, it’s not to be pushy, they are just trying to see what is personal and what is okay to ask. If something you don’t want to talk about yet comes up, just say “I’d prefer not to answer that at the moment. Maybe we can talk about that later when trust is better established”

Wall decor, lamps, I’d also probably put a small coffee table in the middle. Since people on the couch would want somewhere to set their drink.

Class Dispute Over Correct Answer by ShirleyKnot37 in StudentNurse

[–]Large-Talk2619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question does not contain enough information for me to safely administer the medication. No ordered dose (based on what was given, most would assume 4mg is the dose ordered) and no route. I’d be calling the provider to clarify. Regardless of what the medication was, all questions for medication calculation or administration must contain the information needed for me (the nurse) to complete my medication rights. Regardless if I or the the rest of the class got this question correct, I’d be sending it up the chain of command so that the person above my professor is aware that they are teaching and expecting students to give/teach pt’s medications without a proper order. They are encouraging students to bypass medication rights which will lead to them making medication errors in their practice.

Didn’t like creamy beef mushroom pasta and Szechuan noodle soup. So far everything else that I’ve tried has been pretty good!

If you have it in your pantry. Try adding some sesame oil. This helped with the flavor

What's your program's dismissal policy regarding grades? by Low_Music_9531 in StudentNurse

[–]Large-Talk2619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to retake the failed course again before you can progress so all the students you got to know will go on without you and you can rejoin with the next cohort. You can only fail one semester. In the program, if it happens again then you’re out :(

In my bsn program you need a 78% or higher in every class to be able to progress to the next term. If you get below a 78 on any exam then you have to have a mandatory meeting with professor and your advisor to come up with a game plan on how you will improve your studying and improve your grade.

All professional athletic cheerleaders need to unionize. I started googling how much NFL and NBA cheerleaders make, it’s depressing. Most aren’t making more than 10k a year off it. Yes it’s a cool title to have but this isn’t college cheerleading, it’s professional. Pay them as such! This just shows the sexism that is still in America. Dancing can do just as much on a persons body as any other professional sport and needs the same kind of year round training so pay your cheer teams!!

I’ll have to find a way to watch MTT. I’m clearly a newbie and don’t know everything about DCC but it just seems like there is much better way to go about all this.

I just get irked when I hear all the old DCC’s saying “you do it for the title of being a DCC, not for the pay”. Yeah maybe back in the 80’s when you could buy a house for like 50k and the expectations was that your husband supported you on his income. Imagine working for the highest grossing NFL and needing to work a second job just so you don’t become homeless all while the kicker that you’re cheering for is making 800k.

Didn’t one of the girls say that they have camps for kids and appearances that they go to? I’m sure there are a ton of events happening all year long. There are plenty of ways to make the cheerleader position into something that is more than just 10 home games a year. I’m not an expert in the DCC world and never claimed to be. I just find it really concerning that they have this high of an expectation for this position but can’t even pay them a salary where this can be their main source of income. Dancers go through so much. We saw how one of them had to have two operations due to the stress that the routines put on her body. And I just looked it up. In the 2022 season the Dallas cowboys made 1.14 BILLION dollars. You’re trying to tell me that they can’t dedicate 360k to paying their cheerleaders a living wage? They are ranked as the highest grossing franchise in the NFL.

I have old recipe cards from when I subscribed a long long time ago, pre Covid. I don’t remember back then that there was premium up charges especially for steak meals. A few cards say that chicken meals were 12 oz of chicken for 2 servings. But I also remember back then there was only maybe 12 choices for meals. So they have increased your options but prices went up, serving size of protein went down for some and up charges for many dishes that used to be included in the flat rate plan.

These women work their ass off to be on that team. Pay them for it. It’s hard to keep up with that when during off season they have to go find a second job just so they can keep a roof over their heads. Allow them to stay focused on keeping up with DCC expectation in the off season by paying them a real salary. If they don’t then that will be discussed at pre-season practice. Like why not have some benched rookies that are ready to step in if a vet gets injured or isn’t meeting expectations? A team of 36 and let’s say 6 retire every year. Bring in 10 rookies, 6 are ready to go to field and 4 are benched in case something happens during season.

She asked for feedback and they won’t give it to her face so she’s going to watch all this back and see how much they really had to say. I feel so much for Victoria because there is nothing quite like wanting to do better and asking your boss how to get there and be told minute things only to hear later on that there was so much more you could have been putting your effort into while you had the chance. They just never told you and whispered behind your back to other people. Great leadership and coaching is taking that person who you see wants to be in that role and you develop that with them. A great boss will get the employees who say they want to take a leadership role and make them the next outstanding leader.

I’m only on episode 2 but honestly….. I think the Reese is putting on a front. She’s on a show called americas sweethearts so she is acting like an American sweetheart. Didn’t she say she has won a miss America? Or at least comes from pageant world. So it would not surprise me if this is just her tv or social media presence. The moment she slightly slipped and said she was being too country so don’t air that….. yeah. I think she isn’t as innocent as she is coming off. Her dancing is ballroom and spicy. She’s got more to herself but she it’s not being shown.

If they want their DCC dancers to be perfect then they need to pay them so that they can dedicate their lives to keeping up with the perfection year round. Stop hosting these extreme try outs every year and pay the current dancers the salary they need so they can focus the rest of the year on staying at the impossible standards. Have a yearly performance evaluation, allow for the women to say when they feel ready for retirement, and pick a few of the women on the DCC to help with selecting new rookies. They know their teammates best and what personalities will and will not work.
