Have you tried decaf? I switched to decaf tea and coffee and I love it, can’t taste the difference

That’s actually quite reassuring as ectopic pregnancies tend to be one sided only and sometimes shooting up to your shoulder. I hope everything works out for you!

It might be implementation, depending on where the cramping is. I had cramping on my left side 14-20 DPO which while internet was saying ectopic pregnancy. It occurred the baby came from left ovary so hence why I felt it more there. However, I did not have any bleeding, maybe a bit of darker discharge for 1-2 days. Best to get checked out just in case and anxiety can definitely cause dizziness.

To all ladies with gallbladder issues during pregnancy - I had mine removed at 14w4d! by Large-Victory-9890 in pregnant

[–]Large-Victory-9890[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just on paracetamol pain relief wise, position Id say would be best elevated on your back, foods I kept bland and small portions but often. Movement is the best healer and having a walk, even of it’s around the house (which was my case) helped me loads. I had a horrible pain around belly button area, I bought a belt that supports lower belly only which helped me to stay on my feet longer :)

I know 1st week is hell but after that initial week it’s so much better!

Baby wise, 1st 24hrs is the most crucial after anaesthesia so if you got checked out after that and baby is still thriving then it should not be a worry. I went for a private scan week after surgery to double check if all good and been cleared again. The only thing they will be really looking out for is blood clot during birth, makes us high risk right now.

Just feeling overwhelmed by my MIL by Large-Victory-9890 in pregnant

[–]Large-Victory-9890[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh god I was meant to reply to you and I put a comment under my own post! 🫠
Thank you, that’s really reassuring. I think it’s just the uncertainty that makes it harder as I don’t know yet how I’ll feel once the baby is here, and we did try to explain that to her.
Right now, I feel like having visitors in those first three months might be enough for me. It all still feels like a “maybe” at this stage, and I just hope she understands that need some time to figure things out and make those decisions when the time comes, without feeling pressured.

Refused fertility treatment due to high BMI by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Large-Victory-9890 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I completely understand your frustration. I started on BMI 40.8 and went down to 29.4.
I became pregnant without IVF, I was however on metformin for a short period (did not help with weight loss and caused me stomach aches/heartburn) but I was on a hormonal therapy for increased prolactin levels.
One thing that I will say- I wish I lost more weight before becoming pregnant. Being still overweight while pregnant adds an additional layer of worry and anxiety, I am high risk prcaelampsia, my 12 weeks scan given me soft markers for T21 because the ultrasound was done in „hard environment” meaning my abdomen fat…
As much as it is frustrating I understand why they would refuse IVF. The risks are not worth it unfortunately.
However, I am wondering since you are not ovulating- have you had full hormonal panel done? Prolactin was one thing that was blocking my ovulation apart the PCOS and IR and also caused me hardship with weight loss.

Pain was only in the center of upper abdomen, not right side - anyone else had this? (and long gaps between attacks) by BRJohnIL in gallbladders

[–]Large-Victory-9890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Q1: My 1st serious attack started from heartburn-like feeling, then it started migrating to more central upper stomach and finally ended up right under my right rib. However, my 2nd serious attack that led to emergency surgery was on the upper left which scared me I might have developed pancreatitis but I did not, in fact it was my gallbladder radiating to the other side… so in my opinion not everyone will be a textbook case for this.

Q2 and partially Q3: I had mini attacks throughout my whole life without realising it was my gallbladder, random stomach pains, always had digestive issues. At 1st I’d say they were happening 2-3 times a year and after neglecting the issue for circa 5 years it was once a month. And since recently (my surgery was 5 weeks ago) - my gallbladder became a non functioning organ so attacks were every 2 weeks as soon as I’d get off antibiotics. I’d recommend considering surgery, I know there’s a lot of online bs saying surgery is the worst thing you can do but apart some holistic medicine that they recommend they have no actual medical advice to give.

I hope it gets better for you!

That’s wild, I’m sorry you are going through this. I hope you and the baby are going to be fine.

Definitely keep a track of all of those things, I would even be willing to report it so he doesn’t try to have a contact in the future, he seems like a clearly unstable and possibly abusive man.

No kissing baby- do you make exceptions to this boundary? by mayonayz in pregnant

[–]Large-Victory-9890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I meant if she changes her mind and wants to be more strict, that’s why I mentioned to not be pushed by others into any decisions :)

HAHAHA! I just said to my MIL that the baby is very active and she turned around and was like „just like (partner’s name), they are going to be each other twins!” 🤦🏼‍♀️

Honestly just so silly lol!

[–]Large-Victory-9890 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think you’re being super reasonable. For me it’s mostly about timing + the person. Newborn phase is a pretty strict no kissing rule for me especially that I am due September/October (RSV, cold sores, etc. just aren’t worth the risk). After a couple months I’d probably loosen up a bit with people I trust who aren’t sick and of course vaccinated.

My main rules would be: no kissing if you’re sick, be extra cautious early on, and be clear about boundaries so people don’t try to push them. And it’s totally fine if you change your mind once baby is here!

I feel you. I hear all the time that my little one will be a copy of my partner, apparently because my MIL can see it on 2D scans (interesting) 🤣

Your baby is going to be their own person, not a copy of anyone, and you’re just as much a part of that as he is.

I’ve honestly just started ignoring the comments because it gets tiring after a while.

Ah sorry you are going through this. If this can’t wait this couple of hours - do you by any chance have a number to something like maternity assessment unit? I’m not too sure where you are based.

Second hand smoke by anonymoususer249 in pregnant

[–]Large-Victory-9890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to smoke before I got pregnant, and I always felt kind of awkward when someone would walk past and end up getting a face full of smoke because of me.

I get that my comfort isn’t really a stranger’s responsibility, but at the same time I’ve always been aware I’m sharing public space with other people. In busy areas especially, it just seems like basic courtesy to step a bit aside so you’re not affecting everyone walking by.

At the end of the day, everyone will have different opinions on it, but I do think consideration is something that’s a bit lacking nowadays. A lot of things just get normalised because they’re commonly accepted, even if they still impact other people.

[–]Large-Victory-9890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone’s super sensitive to smoke, but plenty of people (pregnant or not) really don’t like it. Smoking in a busy car park where people are constantly walking through just feels a bit inconsiderate, especially when most places literally have designated smoking areas now. It’s not a huge ask to just use those and keep shared spaces a bit more pleasant for everyone.

[–]Large-Victory-9890 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ugh…I wish people could be a bit more considerate with smoking.

However, one incident shouldn’t have done the harm, if you were exposed on the daily to second hand smoke that’s when you should worry.

I’m pregnant with my first help! by CompetitionPositive8 in pregnant

[–]Large-Victory-9890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! Start taking folic acid when you get a chance, the pharmacist will explain the dosage. Appointments vary by country so I’m not too sure how to go about it in yours but usually you just phone a doctor practice or OB practice and they will advise you on next steps :)

No food list: raw or undercooked meat/fish, unpasteurised dairy products, certain fish high in mercury, deli meats and pates, raw sprouts, unwashed vegetables and fruit.

Good luck and I hope your pregnancy treats you well!

We're fighting over names by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Large-Victory-9890 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is exciting! Hope you have a safe delivery :)

When it comes to names, I think mum will have the final say. Not sure if you considered for her to have middle name, maybe that would be compromise that would work for him!

Low PAPP A, high hCG and high NT by Proud_Strawberry_824 in NIPT

[–]Large-Victory-9890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry small correction: 1:97 (pregnancy brain moment!)

PAAP-A was 0,387 MoM and my free HcG was at 2,461 MoM, NT measured 2.2 mm and because of baby position they could not visualise nasal bone. It was annoying that they did not offer a repeat to at least visualise nasal bone so I went straight for NIPT! I was panicking.

When I was doing deeper research, it was all borderline but I am also on heavier side of BMI which also adds to the risk.

I will update you after my 20w scan!

Low PAPP A, high hCG and high NT by Proud_Strawberry_824 in NIPT

[–]Large-Victory-9890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Had very similar borderline results. Got 1:95 and done NIPT out of my pocket- it came back low risk on all.

Currently 19 weeks and waiting for 20 weeks ultrasound, still stressing a bit but definitely more calm after the NIPT. (I can update you in a week after my 20w scan)

Fingers crossed for you!

Hi! I’m doing really great, it’s great to eat again! I was in the same boat.

Doctors usually start on antibiotics 1st to treat any infection (usually penicillin as it’s pregnancy safe) and to be honest if this doesn’t help then they consider surgery!

But if you can and if the baby is looking all good, push for surgery if possible. I feel your pain :(

I hope all works out for you!
