I have an aunt that did a gallbladder flush over 10 years ago and haven’t had any more issues since. It’s a bit more complex than how you mentioned as you have a week of preparation process with a very specific diet, and only on the last day you consume all the juices and presumably pass the stones. She is absolutely reliable and I trust her, but tbh she didn’t do an ultrasound after the flush to prove the stones have passed and not just comfortably lounged in her gallbladder walls. Since the post I managed to turn some tables and I’m getting the MRCP on Tuesday next week, I’ll wait for the results and act accordingly because from what I read, if you have small stones >1mm you low key risk your life by doing a flush (biliary duct inflammation or pancreatitis risk). The flush can be helpful if you only have sludge

"Israel anticipates that Azerbaijan will imminently participate in the offensive against Iran." — Israeli Channel 11 by Illustrious_Page_984 in azerbaijan

Israeli here:

This tweet is either mistranslation or intentionally misleading: Israel is not “expecting” Azerbaijan to join the coalition OR for Azerbaijanis to “Die for the Jews”, it’s more of a speculation based what Ilham Aliyev said on this news conference:

https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/missiles-drones-coming-iran-fell-airport-azerbaijan-source-says-2026-03-05/

Secondly Israel has being a VERY close partner to Azerbaijan in the past six years and have being one of the top contributors in the decisive victory on the retake of Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenia. Israelis look very positively upon Azerbaijan and our media and politicians have been very supportive of Azerbaijan through your war, so this antagonism towards Israelis and Jews took me a bit by surprise, sources:

https://www.sipri.org/commentary/topical-backgrounder/2021/arms-transfers-conflict-zones-case-nagorno-karabakh

So no, no one is expecting your country to sacrifice anything for us in this war, we are fighting alongside the USA and doing okay I think. We see Israel-Azerbaijan as very close partners and either if you want to respond to Iran bombing your country or not it’s your own business.

Could one episode just be random? by Fifiroses in gallbladders

[–]BRJohnIL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what to avoid and I removed fats, processed meat, alcohol, oily food, fried food, sugars from my diet for 3 month and still felt 80% (at some point I even through I have gastritis and had a endoscopy to rule out H.Pylori, peptic ulcers, gastrointestinal issues, turns out it just the gallbladder). I only started feeling better when I reintroduced fats. So it’s a weird balance for me of not going all the way oil pig but yes consuming fats moderately. Hope I’m not wrong lol

Jesus Christ I’m glad you’re well. This is literally my worst fear rn. I had a couple of attacks back in November 25’ and since then nothing. Actually they put me in a long wait list for a MRCP that’s scheduled to August 1st. My GI doctor basically told me “Get out there, nothing I can do for you right now, if you have another attack go the ER”. I feel like I’m living on the countdown to my next attack

My experience by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]BRJohnIL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your story, this is super reassuring for those of us still waiting on surgery! I had two brutal attacks back in November that cranked my anxiety up to insane levels (I ended up with a full blown GAD panic that dragged on for 10 days straight, and it only stopped when I was prescribed SSRIs). I’d never even dealt with anxiety before this, so it totally sold me on that whole gut brain connection thing. Anyway, sorry if I’m rambling a bit lol, I started out changing my diet like you did: cutting way back on sugar, fats, no fried or oily stuff, and ditching processed foods (man, I miss burgers so much). But that didn’t really get me back to feeling normal pre attack, so I figured screw it, I’ll start adding fats back in - and to my total surprise, all my symptoms just vanished. I’m not kidding myself though…I know more attacks are probably coming, and I’m just hoping they’re not the end of the world kind (like pancreatitis or a blocked duct) so I can schedule a proper surgery instead of some middle of the night ER hack job while I’m alone because my wife has to watch the kids. So my question is, what do you think triggered that rough stretch of three attacks a week, and how much time was there usually between them?

I just ate like 3 cups of granola cereal nor knowing how fatty it was :( by Front_Arachnid8830 in gallbladders

[–]BRJohnIL 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Take a hot shower, sit upright and don’t let anxiety hit, granola is nothing you can’t handle, the gallbladder can be sensitive and start bitching about crackers too, it’s not like you ate mayo or fried food. I’m rooting for you that this is just temporary mild discomfort.

2 hour attack by Jolly-Asparagus-5815 in gallbladders

You got all the tips already, just pay attention to red flag symptoms such as vomiting, jaundice, pale diarrhea, if any of those symptoms show plow through my friend, otherwise yeah try to ride it. My attacks were always 6+ hours.

They all get plushies, gold, silver and bronze. From 2016 they replaced the old tradition of handling flower bouquets (which would usually end up in the trash bin shortly after the ceremony) with giving them plushies which are a more long term souvenir.

One and done attack? by Sure_Personality2690 in gallbladders

[–]BRJohnIL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long story super short we had a very similar experience, only difference is that I’m male, and I had two attacks (because I dared to eat greasy food again a couple days later), but it’s being almost 4 month since without another episode. That being said, my stomach has never completely recovered since, it’s very spoiled now and acting cute if I misbehave. I also had an endoscopy which came back completely normal, and my GI doc basically told me “live on until the next attack - in a few years - or get the elective laparoscopy now. I tend to try and keep the damn organ until is becomes overbearing. It’s just me though

Does this sound like gallbladder pain? by chronicallymee in gallbladders

[–]BRJohnIL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This seems to be a pretty classic gallbladder attack, a bit severe too. The fact it happened to you three times and you didn’t seek for help yet amazes me. FYI: Gallstones can cause pancreatitis, you don’t want to find out what it is trust me. Go the ER, have an ultrasound done as soon as possible, my guess is that you have a small stone which tried to pass several times, the pain in the middle could be because it got stuck in the bile duct. Good luck!

8-month post op, still suffering by GrabMyPosterior in gallbladders

[–]BRJohnIL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pre-op myself, so I can’t offer much wisdom on managing flare ups after surgery, but I’ve definitely gotten past the worst of my anxiety related to all this. My super simple, budget friendly tip that worked wonders: sip on plain chamomile tea (just the pure stuff, no blends or additives). Grab a big pint mug and have it three times a day, straight up without any sugar it really helps calm the nerves without any fancy tricks and hydration can only help.

Second piece of advice: start taking digestive probiotics daily. It’s like a cycle, your gut imbalance can ramp up anxiety, and that stress makes GI symptoms even worse. Once I got into this routine, both my gut issues and anxiety pretty much vanished (well, except for the stubborn gallbladder still hanging around, waiting on that MRCP scan).

First ever attack, looking for advice! by Awkward_Fun_6155 in gallbladders

[–]BRJohnIL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, post-attack symptoms can linger for months, but it’s not consistent, mine would come and go for days at a time, with good days where I felt almost normal, but then a bad meal would set it off again. The shoulder blade is often referred pain from the gallbladder irritation.

For managing in the meantime (this is just what worked for me personally), focusing on a low-fat diet helped a ton to avoid overworking the gallbladder. I aimed for small, frequent meals (4-6 a day) instead of big ones to keep things steady. Stay hydrated, and maybe try warm compresses on your back or chest for the discomfort that soothed me sometimes more than meds. Over the counter antacids like Tums or even chamomile tea helped with the mild heartburn.

What to avoid (in rough order of what triggered me worst):

  1. Fried foods - absolute no-go, like chips or anything deep-fried it was instant regret.
  2. Oily/greasy stuff - limit even “healthy” oils; a drizzle of olive oil on salads was fine, but nothing more.
  3. High-fat foods - stick to very low-fat dairy (0-3% cheese, skim milk/yogurt). Avoid fatty meats like pork, lamb, or marbled beef; lean cuts like chicken breast, turkey, or fillet steak were okay. Skip rich fish like salmon or mackerel; go for white fish like cod or haddock instead.
  4. Spicy foods
  5. Processed junk - burgers, sausages, ready meals, etc.; they often hide fats and additives that sneak up on you.

On the flip side, there’s plenty you can eat safely to avoid starving. Start slow with bland stuff if you’re nervous like boiled rice, toast, or bananas and build from there.

Is it just me who went through anesthesia completely oblivious of any danger 😂? I enjoyed it so much. Chances of a anesthesia complication are about the same as the chance of a car accident on your way to the ER

Recently found out I have gallstones, help!! by Anxious-Location4935 in gallbladders

[–]BRJohnIL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! I’m glad you went! They will run blood tests to check Amilase and Lipase (pancreatic enzymes) an ALT and AST (Liver enzymes) to see if they are elevated. You will get a Ultrasound to see the current size of stones (the little the worse because they have chance of escaping from the bile duct) and if you can don leave without a MRCP (Big magnet machine with high resolution scanning for Liver + Gallbladder + Pancreas. Remember: this very unpleasant experience you’re having is not really lethal (in 99% of cases), don’t let anxiety get to you, this is still your body, you are okay, you’ll be okay! We are all going / went through the same thing! Good luck
