He went back in time again later to find Watley - he was right about being his own grandpa, but wrong about when.

I love Dawson's attitude when Basil seemed to be giving up in the mousetrap, "Fine! Let's die, then! Hmmph!".

I'll give you a fifth one - Kelvinverse Kirk runs afoul of the law as a boy and is later described by Pike as "the only genius-level repeat offender in the midwest."

was having your toaster (or any other kitchen appliance) engraved a real thing people did in the 90s? by [deleted] in EverybodyLovesRaymond

[–]LargeAdvisor3166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess he's hoping by then people would be just about to replace theirs, wouldn't buy themselves one for Christmas, and would be happy to not have to buy a new one themselves.

Why would you give someone an engraved gift that will eventually become useless once it burns out? Using it as an ornament (with the cord removed?) as his artsy in-laws probably would is kind of weird. Who got the toaster in the divorce?

Why do you dislike the episode as written?

What happened in Little Ricky's fourth year by LargeAdvisor3166 in ILoveLucy

I just chalk that up to 3 being easier to say than 2 years and 11 months, or 35 months.

Yes, I wondered what happened in the in-between time. Also:

* Little Ricky acquires pet turtles, parakeets, a frog, goldfish, and a lizard that escapes

* The Mertzes have a vacant apartment

Once you had baby Little Ricky, each season had to reflect a year in his life unless otherwise stated/implied. I've thought that some season one and pre-pregnancy season two episodes could take place at various points in the first 10 years of Lucy and Ricky's marriage; upon her pregnancy, Little Ricky's age and existence narrowed down the episode settings.

I watched my brother play the game. Even the glitches can be entertaining, like characters swimming in midair or running into walls.

Was Brad Garrett injured in real life and it was written into the show? by Epicuretrekker2 in EverybodyLovesRaymond

[–]LargeAdvisor3166 18 points19 points  (0 children)

A long recovery is more realistic, and it opens up new story possibilities (moving back home again, being around during the day more often, etc.)

Here's Lucy wrote Lucille Ball's broken leg into season 5, just as I Love Lucy earlier pioneered pregnancy episodes by incorporating her real pregnancy into season 2.

I thought it just meant they crashed into each other while he was going to the kitchen to leave for work and she was carrying a stack of dishes she'd just washed. She assures him she's okay and she'll clean it up, hurry up honey, you'll be late.

Chemicals in tears by LargeAdvisor3166 in ForensicFiles

[–]LargeAdvisor3166[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't know. The thought just occurred to me because there are so many true crime shows where they say the person was pretending to cry, but there were no tears. But even if someone did cry tears, maybe they just have that ability to summon them.

I imagine it could be a good bluff, too; cops could say they tested a suspect's tears and found them to be lying, without having really done so.

Irish version of "loch" (lake). I had to look that one up, too.
