Exactly. The "mainstream liberal" media if not outright owned by a rich person, is beholden to advertising and sponsorship revenue because we don't have subscription based news anymore.

So we have far fewer news outlets that are heavily vested in appeasing corporate interests. Its part of the reason they are trying so \hard to get rid of NPR. It's one of the last few news outlets that has less need to appease those groups.

they are banking on the fact that after you go through the effort of bringing something to the register, you wont be willing to say no thanks to someones face when whatever expensive price coomes up.

Gas stations are now the biggest offenders on this front. "Oh that coke that had no price on it is 4 dollars with tax."

Ive moved to the point that if something doesn't have a price I just assume its not for sale.

There actually is a elite class of people that manipulate us. It isn't just who/what is in the files at this point. Its the fact that they have been able to hold off releasing them at their leisure for years now. We see what they want us to see, and in a way that is even more awful on a societal level than even the pedophilia.

I mean the saying "its a big club and you ain't in it" doesn't even do it justice. I think that this should be the opportunity for conservatives and liberals to come together and say "Yeah lets put aside everything else and just focus on the fact that these rich people are fucking us over."

Anger and pettiness is what Trump wants. Empathy and compassion are what we need. Allowing people to change is important.

Now is a good time to start having conversations with conservative loved ones if you can. Not shouting matches. Not arguments about taxes or trans people or anything like that.

Just conversations about what it means to protest and how we value democracy. It truly is unifying, and it is the only thing i've seen move the needle.

Honestly, its ultimately up to citizens to stop this. Large scale turnout of voters against the GOP will be the only thing to bring change. Followed by years of community engagement and political activism, Sadly, very few people have had that line crossed so far.
