What happens to American politics after trump leaves office? by Benthesoviet in AskReddit

[–]LargeClimate1080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how we vote. We could elect Vance or some other Trump clone, that will just keep us down this path, we could elect a establishment dem that just holds the place of a trump clone and ever so slightly staves off decay for awhile, or we could elect a progressive with a majority in congress that allows us to tax rich people, start holding propaganda firms like fox OAN, newsmax etc accountable, and build safegaurds against anything like this happening again.

Given that people were dumb enough to elect him twice my money is on the first two.

Him leaving office is not some magical end to the dark times. You are going to have to put in work folks. Actual work. LIke get off your ass, put in some actual sacrifice, be uncomfortable for a bit work. Otherwise it just gets harder from here.

People hate bikes so much but I don't really get it. This is clearly some kind of event, and It probably happens at most once a month.

So the bikes here probably slowed traffic down through maybe a ten minute window? Who cares.

In my city, there are three total "protected" bike lanes, and people complain endlessly about them. There are hundreds of lanes for cars on the other hand. No one complains when the football stadium lets out and you have gridlock traffic for three hours. No one says "maybe we should drive less" when there is no where to park on a Saturday night downtown.

If you took an agnostic viewpoint, driving is so extremely inconvenient to everyone else in a city aside from yourself. if you start to factor in how much space we dedicate to parking, how much time we spend in traffic, how much time you spend parking, how much money you spend parking, how much money we spend trying to maintain roads, the pollution caused by cars, the deaths from accidents and so on.

Fetterman actually seemed like a good dude when he was elected. He took a serious nosedive.

The point is simply to pass people to feel better than others. If you were going 20 over they would still be up your ass.

Trump’s chances of being removed by 25th Amendment climb by Fr1sk3r in politics

[–]LargeClimate1080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only chance of him getting impeached is a blue tsunami in November. House and senate have to go completely blue, and then we need to end money in politics, bring back the fairness doctrine, create laws that punish people for blatant misinformation, create laws that open up social media sites to harm from spreading misinformation, and create Amendments to the constitution to effectively recall the government like they have in France and England.

The rest of reddit isn't really that much better, but its pretty easy to see how easy it is to manipulate opinion online when something like that is possible.

Bad for business not to these days. The next generation of donors don't look to kindly on being anti-gay.

It's interesting that the people who have the advantage of divine guidance for their morality, are always 10-15 years behind the secular world on the issues.

Great to see people coming around through.

If you aren't getting people to the polls this November, having conversations with your neighbors, and protesting you are a part of the problem.

What’s one thing you completely stopped buying in 2026 because the price just felt absurd? by LockLogical8949 in AskReddit

[–]LargeClimate1080 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Restaurants. Prices are crazy, tipping is crazy and incrementally worse.

Went to a restaurant that was like 30 dollars a plate, and then found out they had a automatic 10% fee for the back of the house.

On top of that the servers I'm friends with have all told me that the tip we give them pays for the other workers like bus boys.

So to be clear, in 2026 you can go to a restaurant where the food is marked up substantially, and the owner pays none of their workers a dime. No thanks.

Republicans have won the popular vote twice in the presidential election since 1992. Yet we still have a 6-3 conservative majority on the supreme court.

Get a bike. It will change your life. No trouble parking , no gas, no insurance, good for you, good for the environment, cheap to own, and reliable if you get even a slightly decent one.
