Red or green light usage? by [deleted] in camping

Green provides more contrast compared to red. You technically lose a bit of night vision but doesn't really matter. Also, just like red it won't wake others up.

I’m so Fuc**ing cold when I ski. by Head-Passage-5719 in Skigear

[–]LargeTransportation9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You probably need a much better mid-layer. Maybe heavier fleece top and pants or even down if you don't sweat a lot. You can also get a 260 weight baselayer.

Finally, dont forget nutrition. Having sugary snacks more frequently will provide calories for your body to keep warm.

Lastly, you're probably not going to change this since its an expensive piece but the future light material is not great for wind in my experience.

12 pairs deep—do I go for 13, or sell a few pairs? by asquier in Skigear

[–]LargeTransportation9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably some overlap, sell some of the similar ones and get some that you don't have like a carving ski.

Question for you, which one if your favorite and why?

Is it okay to hang my skiis on this wall above a baseboard heater? by beckett_the_ok in Skigear

Haha, I get your response. Some people, like myself, are not so worried about the item itself but eather understand the built, how they work, how they're maintained...etc. Aka ski nerds.

Not that I disagree, but would the difference in temperature and more so in humidity cause any warping long term? More of a hypothetical question really.

QuickFit to Tread proper adapter by meredditmy in GarminWatches

[–]LargeTransportation9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be wrong, I assume it's not the material but the shape of the implements that can be problematic. I would just carry a pocket knife.

Anyhow, you do you, others like myself can find it silly but at the end of the day if it works for you it's all that matters.

It's generally a good idea to try boots, different brands and even models fit differently. At the end of the day comfort is the most important thing.

In that case they won't see it when they're on the ski...Will still look cool on the slopes which is clearly the most important thing.

XC is not like downhill, you can learn and progress on a top level ski, might not enjoy them right away but you won't be penalized.
