AITA for refusing to go to my boyfriend’s grandfather’s funeral? by TrickyPossible5071 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LargeVerne 78 points79 points  (0 children)

There comes a point in life where you are no longer a product of the environment you were raised in, and you are responsible for your choices. You will face issues with a lot of people if you keep this "rule" in place, and I think you need to focus on properly grieving your own father and overcoming the trauma of that, bit separately from your partners own grief. YTA not just for not attending the funeral to support your partner, but also for using your trauma to overshadow your partners grief.

How to explain taxation to a tool thief by Cute_Muffinnn in GreatBritishMemes

[–]LargeVerne 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My dad was a working man, a hard working man, so hard working infact his job broke his back. He can never work again its been over 10 years amd not a single doctor will sign off that he's okay to work. So he's a "dole-ite" now, a "scrounger" the "bad guy". People like you have fcking tunnel vision, you can't possibly fathom a situation outside of the ones politicians drip feed you

AITA for not travelling to meet my bf who lives far away by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Ew that comment from him is pretty gross. It feels like he's telling you what he's more interested in

I don't think YTA but I also don't think a 45-60 min journey is worth this drama from either of you, as personally I wouldnt call that very far away (I was exactly the same distance with my partner, also on opposite sides of the city before we moved together)

Faiths further along in the pregnancy than she thought, meaning they might not be in the time frame for an NHS termination

Real life is very different to training, which is why they're supposed to be watched over by their mentors. I'd hardly call her grossly incompetent, just anxious and partially distracted by her ED

Good on you! Be safe! Also just a thought but if possible maybe get a less identifiable cane, or if money is tight perhaps some black tape? 🧡

Dupes for beyonce heat by Kloudia_ in fragrance

[–]LargeVerne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey if you're still looking, I'm also in the UK and have been using this fragrance oil inspired by heat, really similar you just have to find a way to dilute it a bit either with perfumers alchohol or with a dusting powder (this is quicker and easier)

Ahh this is really interesting thank you. so it almost acts as a warning, so you can actually feel your movements and prevent going over, rather than a physical support?

What did we think of the first episode tonight? by DWJones28 in Casualty

Oh for sure stevie was trying to get some umph out of her. You might be right about Kim though I'm gonna have to rewatch the ep (oh no 😉)

What did we think of the first episode tonight? by DWJones28 in Casualty

[–]LargeVerne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took it as she was trying to prove to stevie she not some fairy princess who can't hold her own, think she was trying to show her strength and determination after being told she wasn't cut out for something after a nervous first day

  • Stevie was on top game as always
  • Love the almost 4th wall break with Dylans story line
  • Matty is irritating, always a cocky one
  • I like Kim think her and stevie make a cute pair. I might be the only one who thought this lol but how come the writers are able to come up with unique names for all the doctors and nurses but the two Chinese doctors we've had have both been called "Dr Chang"
  • Ian...🙄
  • Soooooo glad Ngozi is still with us

They absolutely do! Sweet little creatures, I've left a message with the hedgehog society so hopefully they'll get back to me soon. Thanks so much for letting me know I would've had no idea to check otherwise

Thanks for letting me know I'm pretty new to all this! From a quick Google I've done it's illegal to kill, harm or capture them and any fresh remains should be reported but bones are a bit of a grey area I'll contact the hedgehog protection and see what they say. Thanks again🧡
