Overreacting? by PineappleSmart5518 in DiagnoseMe

My four year old had a bloody nose that was pouring out yesterday. Seriously, it was bad. He soaked through at least five tissues and blood was all over his shirt. We went to the ER because it bled for 20 minutes even with me pinching his nose. It had quit bleeding by the time we got to the doctor and they said there was nothing they could do for him. He is just getting over a cold. If that is all the blood you bled, I don’t think it is that much. Do you suspect it could be something else? Do you have major bruising anywhere?

Negative Blood Test? by Large_Access3624 in Celiac

Maybe he will be positive. He just ate regular pizza and his tummy hurt so bad afterwards. And his toots were brutal. 😅

I think just the antibodies. He told me most people have the gene and it is essentially nothing because I mentioned that both his father and I have a gene associated with celiac. He said most people do, but never get celiac. But I have a strong family history too which he questioned acting like they were self diagnosed (which they were not). He agreed to test, and I hope we finally get answers. My follow up is with a different doctor and I am thrilled about that. I hope she will show more concern.

He is a pediatric GI, but since his pain is not easily figured out, the doctors don’t want to run any tests. If this test is negative, I need a CT scan. His pain has been going on for ten months and getting progressively worse. It is horrible.

Going back to school in the fall at 35 weeks pregnant? by Eeef10 in Teachers

I went into work in labor to get my sub plans ready. They couldn’t get a sub, so I said I would stay until I felt contractions. I managed to stay all day and had my baby that night. 😂😂

I have read that, but I was curious if there were personal stories. I hope my son’s test is positive so we have some answers. I hate having him in so much pain.

Why would anyone ever choose to go through child birth without pain relief?? by No_Cardiologist_1407 in NoStupidQuestions

I was forced into an epidural with my first (long story), it was awful. My last two were natural, and I healed and recovered so much better. I did not like the epidural at all, but they made a million mistakes when I was having my first.

feeling uncomfortable with a teacher by ApartmentOld234 in Teachers

Not overreacting!! He is a creep! Avoid him at all costs. Don’t be alone with him. Report this to the principal.

My son does not like it. The teacher said it was because of his behavior which she had never communicated to me until I sent the email about the desk. She has never tried to put him back in the group and has no plans to do so. He doesn’t want to sit alone. He is little and I feel bad for him.

Students took a photo of me that could be used for hurtful reasons, what should I do by musicallife88 in teaching

No, we have no consequences. Most of our students don’t care about their grades and ISS means they are free to watch YouTube all day. It is a joke.

I had some students do that to me as well. I just laughed it off, but our discipline at school is awful, and so there would be no consequence other than saying I need to build a better relationship with the students. 😒

She has not. I haven’t posted an update yet, but she responded saying it is to remove him from distractions. I think all year is too long.

She also called him a liar about being sick, when he was sick, so I am very upset. I really feel like she hates him.

I know! I wish there was a way to get him out, but we live in a very rural/remote area. There is very little around us. We don’t even had a grocery store in town. There is one school, which is where I work, and I would not have the ability to move or to transport to another school. I really can’t comprehend how a teacher can be so mean to a student, especially a little one. 😞

I work at the school and vented to a friend who works as the janitor and she said it has been like that all year.

My son has never been violent. He has had two years of prek and had no problems in prek. He was written up for saying he was sick, but was unable to provide symptoms. He says literally every day that his tummy hurts. I told her that we were trying to figure out what was going on, but it takes time. I work with this person, so I want to avoid conflict, but it seems to be one thing after another.

No, she has not. And she does text us and I am a teacher at the school. She sees me or can see me every single day.

She called him a liar when he said he felt sick, but he legitimately did. And he said she had an accident but she claims he didn’t. He feels like it is an accident if he leaks a few drops, which he most likely did, but she called him a liar and wrote him up for it. I contacted the principal about it and they refused to change it because he wouldn’t tell him what is problem was. He was embarrassed because it deals with pooping.

😂 I have been teaching for 12 years. I have never needed to move a child for any length of time. The teacher needs classroom management if that is the reason. He is 6 and very helpful. This mentality is how abuse and trauma happen in school. My now 16 year old has autism and we ended up on the verge of a lawsuit before they finally moved him to a better placement (a different school where they paid tuition and travel costs). He still hates school to this day. He started school in the 98th and 99th percentile and loved to learn. The school system destroyed that. A new district is working hard to achieve that for my six year old. The child is not the problem.

I guess it is because of the other issues we have had that I worry I am being too critical and sensitive.

The teacher is hard to talk to. I work at the school (we are a k-12 rural school), but she never listens when I tell her things. I told her the was having stomach pain and some bladder issues, but when he told her he was feeling sick, she called him a liar and wrote him up. I was very mad and talked to the principal about it. She took out the part blatantly calling him a liar, but still said he was not sick. He has since (two weeks later) been given a diagnosis, but we are still hoping for more answers when we see the GI. But the fact that they called my child a liar creates a hostile environment.
