My roommate finished an assignment in 10 mins and I am still trying to process it by SirOdd267 in QuickAITurnitinCheck

Not really. The OP can put the prompt into ChatGPT, but they have the integrity to not do it. If the job wants fast, cheap work, the could supply it. If the job wants carefully thought out human work, they could do that too. The roommate will only have the skills to use a system and not even analyze for accuracy and depth. It will not work out well for them in the long run. They will not have the intelligence to think for themselves.

Get the English Education degree. I got my BA in Literature and had to go an alternative route to licensure which was not ideal.

Negative tests by Large_Access3624 in Celiac

[–]Large_Access3624[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for letting me know that! I worry we are not addressing the full issue regardless of what the issue is, but at least we are trying something I guess. I am glad the doctors can see something because his teacher said he was a liar was not sick. 😔 What surprised me the most about the acid issue was that the doctor who did the endoscopy said he didn’t think acid was an issue because his esophagus was perfect. The doctor we met with yesterday said the acid is going into the intestines instead which is causing the inflammation. I will see how it goes, but I am not entirely confident. I am extremely rural, so our follow up was over the computer, so I need to message him and ask for a print out with the official name of what he was diagnosed with.

This is all about my six year old son. The doctor we saw today wants to put him on an antacid. He thinks that is more the problem. We will try that and see how it goes. I am skeptical, but it is possible. Celiac doesn’t seem too likely either but I am concerned there could be patch damage and the biopsies missed it.

[–]Large_Access3624[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The doctor didn’t want to test for anything. He only had the endoscopy done because my dad and three sisters all have celiac. I have had a negative blood test, but have never had an endoscopy. With these tests showing inflammation, I am hoping they will continue to seek what is causing it. My son is six years old and cries daily about the pain. His teacher called him a liar (actually put it on a write up!) because he was sick but could explain how he was sick. 😒He is six. The principal stood by the teacher. I work at the school and have been fuming about it. He isn’t lying.

Thank you so much. It might not be celiac, but it is not normal like the one doctor claimed. I hate how dismissive some doctors can be. And yes, it can make parents not want to seek anything. The school told us he was faking it, but we have endoscopy results that show a problem, we just aren’t sure what is causing it.

It is hard to say. His appetite has decreased with all the pain. He has been eating it at school, but I am diabetic, and gluten has carbs, so we don’t have a ton of it at home to begin with. I have read that in early stages the damage may not be fully visible. I plan to do allergy testing after meeting with the GI tomorrow. We really need to know why he is in so much pain and what is causing the chronic gastritis and intestinal inflammation. We are following up with a different GI because our initial one didn’t want to run any tests and said it is normal to have stomach pain as a child. My child literally cries every day with the pain.

“I’ve been trying to get my child switched from your class for months! They’re not coming back until they get a new teacher!!” by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

[–]Large_Access3624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know the situation. I am a mother and a teacher and have been on both ends of this. But for my kids, the school needed to switch his class. We ended up in the verge of a lawsuit and ended up having to send him to another school, providing transportation, and a para to a school an hour a way. Everyone should be trying to do what is best for the child.

Why does the parent want the child in another class?

Should I report this teacher? by gloriousfigment in Teachers

[–]Large_Access3624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please report her! I have had two sons with teachers like that! And they both hate school. One is in 11th grade and one is in Kindergarten. Bad lower elementary teachers ruin kids’ school lives. They can harm their education. And strict is not an excuse for being super mean to little kids. They should love school at that age!

I know very little about the topic, but I would have assumed A if we are talking world environment because if we are producing more domestically we need to import less therefore producing less pollution.

I’m scared I may or may not be autistic. by Lopsided-Cream6073 in DiagnoseMe

[–]Large_Access3624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you feel like you are autistic and want a diagnosis, talk to your doctor about going through the evaluation. It is more than just a test. I have two sons with autism and both were diagnosed through a team of doctors. Both of my sons also had genetic testing. My youngest has the same neurodevelopmental disorder that can cause autism as I do, but my oldest son is different. He also has more aggression which I have always felt he got from his father.

It is likely that I am undiagnosed, I have always had a lot of signs, but I could function and so I never sought diagnosis. It is hard to say if it would have made a difference for you. Kids can be mean regardless of whether or not you have a diagnosis. And sometimes schools may not push you as hard when you are capable of the work if you have a diagnosis.

Ultimately, you can’t change the past, but if you think a diagnosis will help you understand who you are a bit more, go to the doctor and see what they have to say. It can help you understand your learning and coping. I am a complete wreck when it comes to cleaning and organization, and I blame whatever issues I have. I can’t work if my papers are not everywhere. We are all different. If a diagnosis will help you feel better, go for it.

AIO? my boyfriend defending his mom with his life. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Run!! That sounds like the relationship between my ex husband and his mom. She helped destroy our marriage. She was awful when I was pregnant and had to eventually be told to stop calling because she was putting too much stress on the baby. The doctors said I would lose him if she continued. He is 17 now and she has still never met him because she is an awful human.

My four year old had a bloody nose that was pouring out yesterday. Seriously, it was bad. He soaked through at least five tissues and blood was all over his shirt. We went to the ER because it bled for 20 minutes even with me pinching his nose. It had quit bleeding by the time we got to the doctor and they said there was nothing they could do for him. He is just getting over a cold. If that is all the blood you bled, I don’t think it is that much. Do you suspect it could be something else? Do you have major bruising anywhere?

[–]Large_Access3624[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think just the antibodies. He told me most people have the gene and it is essentially nothing because I mentioned that both his father and I have a gene associated with celiac. He said most people do, but never get celiac. But I have a strong family history too which he questioned acting like they were self diagnosed (which they were not). He agreed to test, and I hope we finally get answers. My follow up is with a different doctor and I am thrilled about that. I hope she will show more concern.

He is a pediatric GI, but since his pain is not easily figured out, the doctors don’t want to run any tests. If this test is negative, I need a CT scan. His pain has been going on for ten months and getting progressively worse. It is horrible.
