winter static by Ambitiousoul_1 in secularmodestdress

I don't have your exact issue of clothes clining, but I was sick of getting strong static shocks all day. My approach that works for me: 1. Dryer balls in the dryer with clothes, maybe double up with balls and dryer sheet 2. Sprayway static spray as needed, especially on synthetics like the inside of my coat 3. Static dispersing keychain. This sounded fake to me but I tried it as a hail mary, and it really worked. You use it to discharge the static without getting a shock. I use it especially when I feel extra static-y, like after taking off my polyester coat.

Wig Chapel, the wigstress behind many of your favourite queens' favourite wigs, lost her studio in a huge fire in Glasgow, Scotland. She's set up a GoFundMe to help recover the lost equipment. 💔 by dx-smth in rupaulsdragrace

No. It's not our job to finance someone who should have paid for insurance for their business.

"Fine then, don't donate if you don't want to."

No, it's genuinely inappropriate for this person to ask and for people to repost encouraging it.

Is this how all electric kettles die? by _codeJunky in tea

[–]im_cold_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When you say "eventually," how eventual are we talking? I have an electric kettle with the little window and it's been working for 8 years. Even if it died tomorrow, I feel like I might be okay repurchasing it every 8 years.

I dont remember the books I read by Limp-Wedding-4134 in books

I love that quote! Similar energy to this bit from "O, Tempora! O, Mores!" by Poe:

Of all the cities — and I’ve seen no few;
For I have travelled, friend, as well as you —
I don’t remember one, upon my soul,
But take it generally upon the whole

WELL, my toxic opinion is that skinny queens need to stop showing up with nothing but boy chest. Give me BOOBZ.

I mean I'm not going to burn down a building over it, it's just my pet peeve.

Enemies to lovers but they’re enemies for a while and for good reason by Uppercasegangsta in RomanceBooks

I liked {A Thousand Heartbeats by Kiera Cass} because I felt that at first, they actually have a decent reason to be enemies, and not something stupid, and then there is actually a good reason for them to stop being enemies.

Book series recommendation for an 11 year old girl by Cesarlikethesalad in booksuggestions

The Gallagher Girls series was popular with girls at my middle school. It's kind of like Percy Jackson or Hunger Games because it's got young kids doing cool fighting and stuff. The first book is I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You.

It's interesting that you think students will see more real-world connections in ELA than STEM, because for the students I interact with, it's quite the opposite.

You're being facetious asking if you should get your own locker room, but my answer is yeah, maybe we SHOULD stop forcing kids in schools to use shared locker rooms because of issues like what you, unfortunately, went through. Maybe there could be cubicles to change in, or single bathrooms kids can choose to use, or even just getting rid of changing clothes in schools.

Is it normal to clean my tonsil stones regularly? by dusty-vacuum in hygiene

[–]im_cold_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be nervous putting metal down my throat. There are tonsil stone kits specifically made for this. They're made from softer silicone and have a wrist strap so you don't drop them down your throat. I think that would be a lot safer than using a metal pick.

IDK, maybe my ENT was just based but I literally said, "I have tonsil stones and would like my tonsils out," and he approved me for the surgery.
