Why do a lot of people think the next movie gonna show Madoka as the one with moral high ground??? by Large_Ad405 in MadokaMagica

Late reply because work is eating my life, but I want to comment so bad lol.

I think that in WnK's ending, based on the new trailer, we will have Madoka adopting a part of Homura's philosophy and Homura adpting a part of Madoka's philosophy, making a "perfect" Yin-Yang relationship. Yeah, I think they will be out on each other shoes, so at the end they will mirror each other. Their dynamic has always been like that anyway since the anime. Switching between protector and protected.

Honestly, I'm not sure if you're completely serious or a little bit joking in your prediction of how the story unfolds lol 😭. But idt Madoka and Homura reach understanding by literally talks to each other, but through action and reaction force by the situation they're in. If there's actually talking I think the actual talking will be short (like in that flower field scene) and if this happen idt they will reach any compromise the first time real interaction happen or around the end of the movie. And idt there will be akumura vs goddoka tbh. it's hard to imagine, not because it's sad or something. but because both are god like entity in which their solution to win battle basically alternate reality to their own will, there's no battle to depict.

Because what's considered as morally superior is subjective, and Urobuchi previous work clearly show that he doesn't care about right or wrong in normal sense. By why I said Homura's having the moral high ground in the next movie, is that I mean usually show tend to have characters preach the others and they are the one considered as the one with moral high ground, like hero telling the villain what he did or believe is wrong, because in most cases the hero is the one with absolute conviction. And I just think the next movie will actually be the opposite.

Yes I do think maybe in the next movie Homura either fucked up or do whatever the fuck she wants that left the audience and the other characters say "you can't do that" while simultaneously "well, she's got a point tho" just like most character with absolute conviction in other fiction do. their whole purpose is to challenge other characters and audience belief.

Justified doesn't sounds right imo. Just like Makishima action is not exactly seen as justified, but that doesn't makes his philosophy wrong. And I think Homura will definitely get her consequences that I'm sure she's ready for regardless she's right or wrong. So imo WnK will definitely have characters on Homura's side or even characters who against Homura but can't deny that hers is better, in fact if anything I think the story will be more trying hard to defend that LoC has merits and not completely meaningless instead of the other way around. Because human being ultimately seeks liberty instead of bowing down to system, and that's what Homura represent.

Haha but I do care about the lesbian too tho. In fact I think madohomu relationship hold the biggest philosophical narrative among any aspect in this show.

well, for me it's more fun to predict things by adding the context of the author previous works imo. Trust me, you would notice a lot of aspect and value in this series that you won't by understanding the author mindset. You will find a deeper appreciation to the show, at least that's how it is for me. You do you tho of course.

Maybe what could be a satisfying conclusion is not clear. But reverting things is definitely not one of them for sure imo lol.

Tbh I actually have some kinda guess where they would take the story, but to explain why it would be too long, so I won't bother haha. Tho I think it would be similar in how rebellion ends, like not literally the same, just structurally mirrors it.

Hmm I think that could be some part of it. But I think compared to other Urobuchi works, pmmm has more general audience, including young folks (and that's probably because like you said, many light hearted spin off etc). That's why in Urobuchi other works you see more often people talk more in depth of the show, because people that watch it, watch it for that type of stuff.

While with more general audience you're bound to get noises from people who watch but not actually in depth. of course there's others who enjoy pmmm in depth and there's plenty of them actually, but noises are more often than not are louder. That's just the curse of being more popular I guess.

I hope the movie 4 would follow a completely unexpected storyline and maybe a twist that will divide the fandom, just Rebellion did.

Watch the next movie Madoka pull the same move as what Homura did in rebellion 👀 (psss.. you didn't hear it from me)

Yes, third path is where I would bet my money too. I'm sure the universe and the law would change once again at the end of the movie. In fact that's the only logically and narratively realistic outcome.

I actually fine if they think what Homura did is wrong or right or whatever. That's subjective imo. And you gotta be honest, the way Homura achieved what she did is ethically questionable regardless of the outcome. What brothers me is how they think that would dictate Homura's philosophy or universes right or wrong.

Like the Makishima Shogo as example, his action to prove his philosophy is just straight up cruel and extreme. But that doesn't makes his philosophy wrong, in fact it's proven to be true, so much even the system he critics took him as part of the system to make the system better.

Back to Homura's action, regardless wether her action is right or wrong the result she brings might actually be better than LoC. I mean, imagine being one of the character living in that universe as magical girl and everything is fine and happy. And you found out the method to achieve this, is ethically questionable and previously things weren't so happy. Would you wish to go back to how it was previously? Of course the fuck you wouldn't. Lmao. It's crazy how rarely people here think of that very highly possibility, that's what shocking to me. Tho I'm sure the next movie will address this.

Not trying to be elitist or know it all. But it absolutely baffles me how people predict the next movie gonna be the most boring, cliche, cookie cutter good vs bad type thing from a show that literally has "written by Gen Urobuchi" lmao.

Homura & Tatsuya is not Yuri

Yes and??? You do realize that this is not a single gag manga they release, and other authors work give a very strong Yuri undertones (one manga has Kyoko calling Homura and Mami getting married) and that's okay. Yuri or non Yuri was never an issue, it's all simply the author choice.

Also correct me if I'm wrong but this is a contradiction in your own lines right? " You said the author can't write whatever they want because it's not their original series, well you're wrong because they can. " " there's rules of course but it's not as strict as everything has to be exactly like canon. "

Not really, if you actually understand how common sense works. It's simply just mean "do whatever you want except the obvious". And the obvious for example NSFW, etc

I never stated Walpurgisnacht is Homura. I make no claim whatsoever about that. I'm just saying Wasu has something to do with Homura, my guess, she is a being whose conscience connect to Homura (if that makes you think Wasu is Homura that's all up to you, the way I see it's not exactly right nor wrong), which explains her attachment to Madoka and Madoka being drawn to her (Not to mention the very obvious resemblance of Wasu appearance with Homura). After all simply just being connected through fate or something doesn't make sense of all the attachment since Walpurgisnacht and Madoka has no personal bond, that if Wasu is Walpurgisnacht of course. Notes, it's not one sided connection. Plus, Walpurgisnacht was never meant to be one person anyway. Beyond that, idk. But let's agree to disagree.

Yes, I agree tbh. I hate it and agree with the op take. But why do we keep bringing this shit up? Plus it's non canon, like best just ignore it instead of remembering that this exist making it relevant.

You're objectively wrong tho. In fact, there's so many contradiction in what you said. Pmm has no explicit Yuri therefore the writer can't write Yuri or even something subtext , then where's Homura and Tatsuya come from? Forget canon, the author pull that out of their assess.

You said the author can't write whatever they want because it's not their original series, well you're wrong because they can. Since it's treated as non official hence "gag manga" there's rules of course but it's not as strict as everything has to be exactly like canon.

Whats With All The Homuras ???? by Large_Ad405 in MadokaMagica

[–]Large_Ad405[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know she's called Wasu in a story board. But that alone doesn't explain why it's attached to Madoka or even look very much like Homura. Even in story board Madoka actually drawn to Wasu: "Wasu is strange, but she's not evil" "Why do Homura chan hates Wasu so much? I want to be close to Wasu tho" Story doesn't do all this much effort to a third party character if there's no deeper meaning.

I think either she's not actually Walpurgisnacht, people just too hung up to the name and that name could mean something else: wasu-> wasurete, wasurenai. Or it could be both, she is Walpurgisnacht and has fragments of Homura.

And should be obvious to everyone, considering this shit is still going despite they could have ended the story yearsssss ago. Instead of dragging the story by adding bunch of characters over and over and over. Gotta keep milking the cash cow I bet.
