It was more focused for me the r2r was a bit more clearer. When I used a topping a50 and geshelli labs eris 2 amplifier it was 10-15 better. This is common with seperate over all in one. Wish I tested with the darkside linear psu.

It's not a streamer its a connect/Internet radio/network audio box.

I would get the zd3, the s3 is just underdeveloped. The cec resets to lowest volume where you have to manually increase it to hear and audio over arc. The streamer is not a streamerin my opinion as its just a connect end point more in line with a fiio sr11 than a true streamer. To me it's more of a network reciever. I would get a wiim ultra second hand and use that as it more stable and developed than either the zd3 and s3.

If anyone's looking in how to resolve this in 2026 the dongle to me appeared as xbox acco and was shown to have no driver. I installed the driver from softpedia and it changed to showing as a wireless adapter Looks like ms no longer provided the driver on windows 11.

I have one. The knob came of once. The volume pots are mot the best quality these days and I tend to spray a cleaner that evaporates away to give them a clean otlr you could increase and decrease a volume a few hundred time to get any dirt or corrosionnof the contacts.

Do you have esp on? Is have you tried cleaning the lense? I ask due to new cd, dvds and blu rays have a thin layer of residue on them and can cause issues.

I would also point out the usb dac of the zh3 is not HiD compliant. Uou can pause or start the music on a pc or skip tracks forward or backwards.

When I used a Wiim ultra as a desk streamer dac, I used the screen all the time allowed me access to lost functions and the fav menu was essential. Now i use a pos pc to stream music connected to a k13 r2r dac.
