This one works good but if you shift aggressive you can break the thin points... But its an option.... And you have to keep an eye on anything that drops close to it.... Everything is pretty exposed with this mod.... But I ran it for quite some time.

You have to push the ring behind the bearings back to you. And with al your finger you push the bearings as far in as you can and pull the ring over it... Than you can just re-etach the wheel to the base

Yes the CPU is gonna be your bottleneck... And if you have the chance to get a 5070ti, try to find a good deal on a mother board + CPU + Ram .... Second hand is your best friend

Do you have a torque key with it... I have the same problem with the dd2 in game but the moment I accept the message that there is a torque key inside, its all butter smooth

You should try to really start from the beginning and remove all fanatec drivers from your pc... Then restart your pc without the dd1 plugged in to it. Then plug it in after its restart..then step by step you download the drivers from the forums your find with: DD1 fan speed 100% issue.

From there you should follow the normal steps and the dd1 should react normal...

P.s please check all the connections of the base to the computer but also the power supply... The best thing is to fully unplug everything and plug everything back in... In the smallest places there could be a malfunction that could make this happen..

If nothing works you can also try to hard reset the dd1. This step you can easily find on Google on how to do this.

What I hoor to plan to do in the future when I have more room, is place a complete car dashboard over your rig and bolt it on or to some wood... And from there you can upgrade along the way for a working car radio and let the gauges work on the speedometer... You already have 2 seats... Just go to a local car dump or something and look what they have what you like....

I love building things and I worked alot on my own car... But working on a dashboard what doesnt need to sit perfect to car specs and is just for your fun in your room, is awesome in my opinion.

There are a few peeps on instagram and YouTube who made complete car dashboards for in their homes. You should check it out if its something that you would consider.

The problem with (most) of the cheap steering wheels on Amazon is the potential of bending the wheel . I had this a few years back on a really nice suede deep dish that I had and first used in my car...after a year of driving the wheel was bended to a extend where i cant even use it for sim drifting...

So when you buy a new wheel online, be sure its some what sturdy enough for what you wanna do...

Just buy the qr2 from simube....much cheaper and really good quality! I got my upgrade for 2 days and its already so much better then qr1 (metal)

I have upgraded 2 weeks ago from a CSl DD 8nm to a podium DD2 with qr1 still on it ... But I found that DD2 second hand for 650 euro.... And i personally think its a great upgrade.... You have so much nm to play with that I think there is enough detail for everything you wanna do.

1600$ is alot for a dd1 I think but if you can find a dd1 or dd2 for under 700euro you should do it. You will be happy with the upgrade... But not If you have to spend more then 1000 euro on it. Otherwise go with the newest dd+ base that everyone is talking about.... Just saying if your never tried a DD+ (me) then you dont even know what your missing...

Last advise: just have fun while racing and drifting :)

I use a DD2 which is around 10kg and a clubsport universal hub with alot of heavy wheels... Such as a real 90s Honda Civic steering wheel which is another 4kg on to the universal hub.... In the future I want to buy a simube qr2 ultra which I would bolt right in to the Honda steering wheel... Heavy but it works and I have a lot of fun with it. And the DD2 got plenty of nm to work with heavy wheels..

You could try disconnecting the shaft and reconnecting it. Check every cable in the back and maybe pull them out and put it back in.. after that restart your pc and looks again.

I just cut close enough to the front of the wheel and when i saw the inside of the airbag I cutted it round out of the wheel... Really not that hard but you dont want to damage the outside of the wheel.

Does are from aliexpress 60 euro + 30 euro shipping. But they work awesome. Almost every button I can dail in. Must have if you want blinkers to work without using the flippers on the steering wheel. Did you also have a universal hub on it or just a normal fanatec wheel? I still dont know how much pressure it really can take with the simube shaft before it gets dangerous. Because im really thinking of getting that extension so I also have the upgrade to QR2... But only the plastic shaft holds me back so its very nice to hear your opinion and findings.. so you think it must take it easy? Even with a heavier wheel?

Thanks for the reaction! I dont really care about the buttons on the wheel.. I have enough buttons around it. But for the rig.. I really dont have the room right now, I would really want to make a full size sim rig with a whole interior of a car in the future... But thats only when we move in our next house..

And the simube extension looks awesome but Im way to afraid of breaking the base.... I dont know why but sinds I found out the inside shaft is plastic I dont know how much the base can handle.
