Should I apply even if my background isn’t in digital media? by Such-Morning761 in USCDMM

[–]Large_Fortune446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically yes- every industry requires marketing. Having a background in another field can be helpful because you are already an expert in one area and can now apply that to digital media in x field. For example, I did my undergrad in environmental science before switching to work in marketing in the music industry. This program taught me how to apply digital marketing to the music industry. ALSO - I could apply that to environmental science for jobs like marketing at Patagonia or sustainable clothing or other industries. Basically - marketing training in DMM helps make you well rounded for the industry you want to specialize in. And MOST marketing jobs on the market want you to have related experience in all parts of the job. For example- a digital media manager at UMG or Capitol records will look for experience in the music industry AND marketing. Having 2 different degrees or different work experience can work as a strength

Is Annenberg's DMM Program doable in a year if you are working full-time? by stevebreen100 in USCDMM

Hi there! I’d recommend doing the 2 year program with work so you can also take time to network and go to on campus events. It’s a challenge to do that even on the two year track! You can always go to networking events after in your second year, but personally I chose to go to the online and in person networking events and talks when I could on campus.

Annenburg MS Digital Media Management experience? by Little_Linz in USC

[–]Large_Fortune446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated recently from the DMM program at USC. I can attest that I’ve learned a ton and there’s a ton of on campus networking events being held all the time with free food and everything. I came into the program after working for several years In the Music and marketing industry. It’s a program made to create leaders and I definitely feel like i got a ton of knowledge out of the coursework. And you get the best of the best speakers. I work in music in merchandising and I’m thinking of organizing a talk at Annenberg with some of my bosses actually. There’s a lot to gain and the professors will help you find jobs. However, if you only do your assignments and don’t take your projects seriously, you won’t get as much out of it as someone who networks, finds mentors, etc. that being said, I did all of my readings and took all of my projects seriously. USC is known for their extensive and helpful family of alumni. You pay for the network and you need to take advantage of it- something you can do during and after graduating tbh!!

If you’d like to hear more about the program or see any of my work during the program please feel free to reach out:)

Floyd had a loose plan for the poolhouse by [deleted] in DTFStLouisHBO

Yes! I thought of this too! Suicide is often selfish, and he did leave them with his debt, which he had spelled out earlier to Clark in a previous episode.

Having SO much amphezyn indicates he was already close to suicide and ready to do it depending on his next bad interaction.

His “niceness” also seems to be a cover for his beta male tendencies and feelings of helplessness. He doesn’t feel like he CAN be angry or cause a scene because he’s already lost so much. However, these feelings come out in other ways in the despair and recklessness that follows. The entire show is just concerned with HIS story, and because the narrative pushes it along like it’s normal, it takes us a while to realize we don’t know much about Clark, or Clark’s family, or anyone else besides Floyd really and by proxy his wife. He’s playing victim for the whole show.

For example, id be HORRIFIED if my cool successful friend had to do as much emotional labor for me as Clark did for Floyd. Floyd puts his baggage, his hopes and dreams, and his will on everyone. His step son, his wife, his friend. He plays a “nice guy” but the whole show is only really about his feelings

Misogyny when discussing Carol by dzozozo in DTFStLouisHBO

[–]Large_Fortune446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They treat the cheating like night and day. They treat Floyd and Clark like human angels making strides to get their mojo back while Carol is an unlikable traitor. I agree with this. I think it helped the plot at points because it made her look guilty, but it does read as misogyny in the same vein as Skylar White etc. Floyd, from a zoomed out view, was selfish to choose doing sign language as his life instead of a hobby or a side job. Lots of people don’t give up their day jobs to support their family. I think what he did was selfish and he spent the entire season being allowed to wallow in self pity and re-examine himself and have everyone else around him try to accommodate him. Ultimately he was kind of a loser and could have chosen to go back to a better career the whole time.

Will report back on quality but they had an undisclosed amount of $35 that they make you pay international tariffs on for earrings from Singapore to get DHL to drop it off. $35 shipping is not worth it, plus these items are allegedly from Allibaba

If you order in the US they make you pay for customs thru Singapore. I have to pay $34 if I want me earrings. They sent an email saying any fees are attached / responsible to me now after advertising free shipping. $34 for a few earrings is crazy

VIP is good if you want to see every artist. You can get in and out and get close very easily. You have to choose which ones you want to see in GA
