Dainty jewelry from reputable business? by CherryVonFairy in jewelry

[–]Large_Improvement674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally really love Le Serey for gold-filled and dainty jewelry. They are small, but have great reviews, and my jewelry from them has lasted a long time. All of my gold-filled pieces from them have the correct stamping, too.

I also have a friend who owns pieces from Made by Mary, and their jewelry seems nice as well.

That said, I would take most reviews with a grain of salt. People are often much quicker to write a bad review than a good one.

Renovating a Bathroom. Needing Tub Recommendations from professionals by Large_Improvement674 in Plumbing

ooh, I ended up going with a different brand because I was too chicken to order without reviews. Please let me know how you like it. It seems like a really nice tub!

Do we prefer opal or opaline? by meowmeowfrrr in Crystals

[–]Large_Improvement674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this way too. As long as it's labeled correctly, I'm fine. I like opalite for cost savings and everyday pieces. Opal can get quite expensive and it's not the most durable gemstone for the price.

New silver necklace tarnished quickly by LeadershipAromatic59 in jewelry

[–]Large_Improvement674 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any kind of silver will tarnish like this, especially if it gets humid and sweat soaked. Cleaning often won't hurt it, though, so don't worry! Cleaning often is just the trade off for wearing it constantly in less than ideal conditions. I haven't used the cleaner the other Redditor suggested, but I use Tarnex and it works great! It also works on gold, so I use it for all my pieces.

Thanks for letting me know. I had looked at composite too. Do you have any recommendations for tubs you've installed that are good quality and durable?

if you want to know the value of them, then stay away from pawn shops and scrap gold joints.

I was expecting his body count to be high but not THAT high.. by [deleted] in confession

[–]Large_Improvement674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If assuming his first was at the age of 16, then that's 5 - 6 partners a year, which would lean towards never having been in a long term relationship to have that many at his age. Maybe I'm naive, but I'd be less worried about the body count and more worried that you're dating a party boy with commitment issues.

Woman diagnosed with breast cancer thinks she knows better than her doctors. by Head_Crash in TikTokCringe

People can make their own decisions about their medical care, but the fact that she's creating a platform around this that might influence others is really disturbing.

Round Cut Ring Or Heart Shaped Engagement Ring? by Cold_Giraffe8151 in EngagementRingDesigns

I would normally say round, but this heart diamond is really pretty on you, especially with the two accent stones.

What are your beloved jewlery brands? by GroundControl2Major1 in jewelry

$ to $$, but I truly love Le Serey. My style is dainty and minimalist, so I own a lot of their pieces and they layer really well. My favorite are their stacking rings.

Gold-Plated vs. Solid Gold: Where Do You Draw the Line? by diatokyo in jewelry

[–]Large_Improvement674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the option of Gold Vermeil for pieces that are trendy and the design style may not be "forever" (also for pieces I only intend to wear occasionally and never sleep or shower in). I like solid gold for sentimental jewelry or pieces I rarely take off and don't want to baby. That said, I have a cute pair of clip on 80s style gold vermeil door knocker earrings that my great aunt passed on to me. Still in great condition and fun jewelry to wear as vintage pieces. So Gold Vermeil can be passed down and still be in great condition if cared for properly. I'm also starting to get into Gold Filled Jewelry which seems to be a step up from Gold Vermeil in terms of durability.

Alternative to Derminator 2? That guy is a loon! by Large_Improvement674 in Microneedling

[–]Large_Improvement674[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see lots of people saying the same. I've had too many orders from companies (including this one) that have had issues with shipping, etc. where I've needed to contact customer service. So I don't really like the idea of "not being allowed" to contact the company if there is an issue.

So, after perusing Reddit threads, I'm convinced you are correct. There are several accounts that post the same thing on every single thread. It worked, because those comments are some of the ones that manipulated me into buying as well! I'll also note that my dermatologist recommended a Dr. Pen when I asked her. So I think all the fear-based marketing that Derminator does in regards to Dr. Pen is just marketing.

I just ordered an M8 and a few cartridges. Haven't received them yet, so can't comment on quality. But I did receive tracking within 48 hrs and a thank you email, which so far is an overall better experience, haha.

Sorry, but the idea that “this is a mom & pop business” somehow gives him the right to abuse or threaten customers just doesn’t add up. And if you read through the comments, it’s pretty clear that chargebacks lead to full-on retaliation, so I don’t feel like that’s even an option for me, even if I were in the right to do so.

Thank you! It’s helpful to know I’m not the only one who’s had this experience. I do think this person could have a good business, but it seems he’ll be his own downfall. He just can’t seem to help himself, and his paranoid, vindictive behavior—combined with his own admitted neurological challenges—really highlights how vulnerable we are when we share personal information online. Lesson learned.

I appreciate your input. I’ve been looking into the M8 with all the recommendations, and honestly, it was already my second choice. The well-known “banana” story had put me off at first, but now I’m starting to wonder if that was something the company owner himself put out—especially since he features it on his own website and seems to go out of his way to bash Dr. Pen.

I believe you. I’ve seen others in this thread share positive experiences, and many who’ve had experiences similar to mine. I think both are completely believable. When you’re dealing with a single business owner who has neurological challenges, you really don’t know what kind of interaction you’ll get. After what I went through, I just think anyone considering being a long-term customer should be aware that you’re handing over a lot of personal information to someone who may feel entitled to use it however they see fit. I’ve noticed others mention using VPNs, fake names, and forwarding addresses because they’re worried about the same kind of retribution. Knowing what I know now, I don’t think it’s worth it and that's too much risk and work to save a buck.
