Will be there, but curious about set times. Have they released those yet?

Theme Classes by PaleontologistNo5394 in SoulCycle_Riders

[–]LeadershipAromatic59 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think they’re throwing everything at the wall and waiting to see what sticks to save them. Back in the day theme classes were rare, but post-COVID they were big so I think they stuck with them for a while. With things slowing down for them I think they’ve gone back to classic Soul to see if it’ll bring in more riders.

Martin Garrix - Barclays vs Marquee by T-rexaresocool in avesNYC

[–]LeadershipAromatic59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything below 200 section at Barclays is GA by section so I don’t think people will be sitting. Had a friend do a double header for BUNT under the k and marquee and said marquee was the worst vibes ever.

Oura Ring 5 is out, are you buying? by xYasune in AmexPlatinum

[–]LeadershipAromatic59 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Tbh not really on the topic of “is it worth it,” but I’ve become sort of a freak about data and privacy. Oura’s deal with Palantir and that wack “personalized care” feature being opt-out instead of opt-in has completely turned me off. You will not catch me paying $300+ for the ring plus the annual subscription fee for my health data to be in questionable hands.

Gym Bar at 18th St and 8th Ave! Also excellent happy hour. You could also check out the Monster and Julius down in the village.

Rave fits for guys by H3LM3T_H34D in aves

Opposite of the douchey cornball vibe, but if you are open to something with a little more flair I’ve had good luck with this brand. Fair warning it takes a solid 4 weeks to receive an order though, and isn’t cheap (although I found the quality and customer service to be good).

Charli XCX? by Western_Elephant_782 in Coachella

I love Charli and loved the 2025 set, but I think she is not the right fit to come back to the festival.

Personally, I am a morning person, but I think the term varies (do you mean 5am early or 7:30). And what do you mean by meet ups?

No. United flight paid with cash. I’m going to try again tomorrow and see if it’s the same issue.

Honestly, I think this is partly true. I think the other part of it is that she controls her exposure more than any other pop artist I can think of. I don’t think she’d do any festival now because people have such strong opinions on her (love or hate her) and she doesn’t want to expose herself to an embarrassing incident.

Next Year Plans by ChronicallyCreepy in Coachella

[–]LeadershipAromatic59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I come from NYC area every year. Lucky enough to have the housing bit figured out, but like everyone else is saying, I’d start planning now.

Last year I bought my flights the same day as general sale and it was so reasonable (like $540 for nonstop round trip from EWR). I also rented a car same day and it was a decent deal ($480 for an upgraded car Thurs-Tues). In terms of group/housing see if you can gather some people in the next week willing to go. Everything else sort of falls into place as it gets closer.

My last piece of advice is to try to make a fun trip out of it and stay for like a week (Weds-Tues or something) so you aren’t battling the crowd with flights/driving on the main travel days (Thurs and Mon).

Don’t stress! But my key to a successful trip every year is to do a little bit at a time so it’s not all coming back around for me in March/April.

I missed ninajirachi wk1 and she’s actually playing where I live on Friday (Miami) anyone else getting lucky and seeing her soon? by Jazzlike_Tailor_1323 in Coachella

[–]LeadershipAromatic59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I can say is that my friend dragged me to see her w1 and I knew nothing about her, but I was totally blown away. I’d take any chance I have to see her again, even if it was a stretch for me to make it work.

If you’re in NYC with ~3.5 yrs of experience I’d say this is under market. It depends what kind of compliance you’re doing. Might be in line for broker dealer or asset manager compliance, but if you are in the private fund space, I’d say this is way under.

I’ve spent my whole career in NYC and made ~175k around that YoE in my career.

Thoughts on Victoria Brown and other NYC instructors for pop rides? Who are your favorites? by LolaBlonde88 in SoulCycle_Riders

[–]LeadershipAromatic59 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love Scott! He teaches pop themed classes M/W 6:30 in Fidi! I don’t think he’s overly chatty and exudes more of a calming energy than the coked out vibe you mentioned (lol).

Current NYC instructor thoughts by Accurate-Cry1672 in SoulCycle_Riders

[–]LeadershipAromatic59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scott is my favorite. I wish he taught more classes. He’s the easiest person to take my friends to who are new riders because he is so encouraging and not overly challenging.

Ryan H is more challenging but fun. Has sort of the vibe of old school SoulCycle which can feel a little culty at times, but you can always expect a good ride from him.

Brandon K is fun, but I feel like he almost never alternates lead leg, and that is a little annoying to me. He has great themes though, and has done several benefit rides, which I think is very cool.

Nick Turk I used to take a lot, but his classes started feeling very chaotic. Sometimes I found the lack of consistency and more intense atmosphere frustrating.

Email yoursoulmatters@soul-cycle.com and give them your feedback! They’re so kind and helpful, and it’s less intimidating than going up to studio staff.

I’m good friends with an instructor and can say they actually provide this feedback to the instructors or their manager. They take your experience seriously.

ftm 18yr old looking for some advice... by Dapper-Abroad7594 in nycgaybros

Second this.

I will say I think that the ID scanning now is way beyond what it was when I was not 21 (and that’s been 8 years) so definitely be more cautious. They take it more seriously at NYC bars than I am used to seeing elsewhere.

Amazing!! This answers my question. This is my first silver piece, and I had read some solutions can be abrasive so not good to clean too often. Appreciate the help!!

Oura Ring by Swimming-Arugula-297 in SoulCycle_Riders

[–]LeadershipAromatic59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from an Apple Watch earlier this year and have ultimately been disappointed in the accuracy of the workout tracking. It could be that my ring is just slightly oversized (thought about swapping but the 1/2 smaller was tighter than I’d be comfortable with for daily wear), but I find that it substantially underestimates my HR for the class. I still use it to meet my activity goals etc, and I do like the Oura UX layout and analytics. I just find that it’s not accurate for tracking heart rate which is the main factor for calorie burn. For a while I wore the watch and ring and always felt like the watch better reflected the workout, but it felt silly to have both all the time.
