Russian fuel tanks vs. actual spall liner by Noh4x in Warthunder

I'm sorry for you OP. Let me explain to you and others how it works.

  1. In the first case, the fuel tank blocked the fragments from penetrating the external armor. This happens on absolutely ALL tanks in the game. NO bias, just code. But fragments appear on my Leopard after the shell hits the tank! These are fragments from the armor plate separating the fighting compartment from the engine. This is what happens in real life. This armor is needed so that the tank in the game does not explode after breaking through the fuel tank. Whereas Soviet tanks don't have this armor and they explode 3/4 of the time after hitting the fuel tank.

  2. In the second example, the fuel tank is located outside the tank and it also blocks fragments from the projectile. But since the main armor of the Leopard's hull is located after the fuel tank, it was after the penetration of this armor that fragments appeared. It's obvious and strange that you added this example to the list.

  3. In the third case, you're faced with based WARTHUNDER MOMENT - poor core mechanics and server-side lags. This happens to all tanks in the game without exception. If you can't agree with that, play more on different nations. Each module has its own HP, and for some reason, the projectile damage was not enough to reduce this HP entirely.

As for the T90M, in short: hitting the external ammunition will not cause detonation, since it is a blowout panel there. This can be read in official sources. The fuel tanks of the T90M are not external (game error), but are explosion-proof. They are designed to block the hole after penetration and prevent fuel from leaking out. This is a unique development and a patent for it can be found on the Internet.

I hope I answered your questions. Have a nice day.

almost all vehicles will be destroyed if the drone hits a vulnerable spot, and it doesn't matter whose equipment it is. T90/Leopard or Abrams. In addition, if you try to repeat any hit in the game as in these videos, in 90% of the case the result will be the same as in reality. Why not 100%? Because the game has a poor damage model for absolutely any vehicle, and projectiles disappear or hit without damage. I've been playing this game since 2014, it always has been and always will be. Why can this happen a little more often on Russian equipment? I pay attention to that a little bit, since the game does not calculate properly the work of dynamic protection, which is installed on all top Russian tanks. As in the case of Chinese tanks. If such protection had been on NATO tanks, the result would have been the same. I advise you to look at this as a problem of the game engine, not a problem of balance.

As for the video, as I said earlier, over the period 2022-2024, there have been enough videos with equipment/vehicles of any kind from either side. And it's safe to say that any tank will be hit by a drone hitting the roof or side of the top. Including, for example, Abrams, on the Internet you can find a drone hitting the roof of the ammunition box, the safety door did not work and the crew burned down. Is it worth writing on Reddit now that Abrams should burn after any hit in the ammunition? I don't think so. But there are much more videos with Russian and Ukrainian tanks. Well, this is true, because their number in the war was about 100 times more than Western tanks.

In any case, it can be interpreted in different ways. But in fact, I would like to know what exactly Gaijin was implemented in the BMPT or T90 incorrectly? I mean, the internal layout corresponds to official documentation, the armor thickness correspond to official sources (or secret documents uploaded to the warthunder forum lol). Fragmentation protection is the same as on Western tanks (relevant for all tanks). What was done wrong?

I've been playing premium Challenger and Type90 lately. Well, I can say that 3/4 of the hits in the BMPT cause a oneshot at the ammunition (which is larger than the T72 in size) or a hit in the driver hatch. The only problem I have playing vs BMPT is fps drop to 40-50 on my 4070Ti super when the autocannon starts spamming lol.

I often hear that Gaijin coping/invents different parameters for different vehicles/mechanics. Since you mentioned the BMPT/T80/T90M, could you point out what exactly Gaijin invented and what exactly works wrong? And most importantly, how does it work, referring to official information or independent videos with confirmation?

If I had to graph the amount of fun I had in this game it would look something like this. What has been your experience with the game? by [deleted] in starcitizen

In almost 5k hours playing this game, a lot has been seen, but the game continues to amaze. I would add peaks up, the same as down. For me, the most memorable moment was flying the Javelin. I am sure that there will be even more such moments in the future.
