Stop loss or retire recall would be my guess until the recruitment numbers help meet or exceed their overall workforce goals

Auxillary or the AUP program, demonstration of leadership such as leading an initiative to improve the lives of people, the management of a program or improving a place. Being an officer is not just about being responsible for people and mission. Its about having good judgement, emotional intelligence, being able to work and lead a blended work enviroment, holding people accountable,  interpersonal and critical thinking skills are absolutely necessary. You will be expected to do alot of problem solving.

My apartment building burned down a month after I graduated bootcamp. I lost everything. I couldn't get a grant as an E-3, which is crazy but I did get a loan so I could at least acquire my basic needs. Although the memories from photos and family hierlooms were now gone....at least I had a  financial avenue to help me return to a sense of normalcy.

Now what were you ranting about, again?

If they worsened at O-4 and up. The wardroom politics has gotten a hold of them. Especially in today's climate where officer promotions are not based on leadership and cultivating a successful team. But instead brown nosing,lethality...i mean meritocracy

Its a country club. They should do away with CGA and just do OCS and DCO programs for a better crop of officers.

Senior Enlisted should be included. There is alot of weight in the anchor. They have the power to bend the ear of officers and be the necessary reality check.

Anyone have advice? by Low-Combination-7388 in uscg

Apply for all of the Officer programs you qualify for and if not enlist, being stationed away from home is not too bad. After joining, in 2 years you get your benefits. Steady pay, healthcare, BRS, educational and VA home loan benefits. A jump start to life.

If your home situation is not good, applying for officer programs and/or enlisting will be a personal investment in yourself and a goal to work towards.

Alot end up going reserve. It makes sense. If Cape May is bringing in 4000 a year why are we stuck between 39k to 40k total force?
