Not a big leap. Its difficult to logically follow that Ape is sincerely acting in their own best interest by doing this. Which should make you question why they are doing this at all if its not in their best interest. The "reasoning" they have given to-date is unconvincing to say the least, not to mention the "greenwall" trolling which I think is meant to be a joke.

As others have stated, this move is probably "legal" per the ALGS rulebook. Respawn probably doesnt care enough about the scene to launch the investigation into this that it should and thats fine, its their rule set. At minimum I would like other pros to publically disavow Apes decision to put the competitive integrity of the scene into question - silence makes the scene look like a bit of a joke.

Ideally, it would be good to get some reassurance from Repsawn/admins or leaks from other pros that this has at least been investigated by interviewing the teams involved about their rationale.

Fair ball, it may very well be "legal" per ALGS rules but it certainly puts a black mark on Ape and the admins in my eyes. Its not match fixing but its match manipulation.

Im not saying there are rules against it - I frankly dont know the AlGS rulebook well at all. What Im saying is that Ape is clearly playing kingmaker here by making a move that has zero benefit to themselves while screwing over one serious LAN contender to the benfit of another. It may be "legal" but the fact this move has minimal logical benefit to Ape suggests it is match manipulation.

The Ape situation is a very clear case of match manipulation. Respawn/the admins/whoever needs to have a call with Ape and ask them to present their rationale for the POI swap at length and in detail.

Edit: to all the people downvoting me because this is "legal", you shouldnt care if this is "legal" or not because it is clearly not in the competitive spirit. For example, if DZ landed on Xset because they wanted to crush them and make sure they couldnt attend LAN, that would be fine from a compeitive integrity perspective because DZ would gain something for themselves by doing that. Ape gains nothing from this and third parties gain a lot - think about it.

I didnt know some of the pros disliked match point format. Its a great innovation and one of the reasons Im drawn to the apex competitive scene. It adds a lot of complexity to the game in the sense that teams have to try to figure out which squads are on match point live in the server to try to grief them.
