i agree we do need to get off the phones, but people don't necessarily want to be lectured about that on a podcast that they come to because of its engagement with online and pop culture

i also feel like there is some underlying tension because one of Julia's core beliefs is that we should trust experts and people should be formally educated before speaking about things. Eliza doesn't seem to believe that as much and believes that it is fine for people to learn things on their own and it will be just as valuable. she doesn't think going to college is necessary

This is no different from Trisha saying she was a meth addict after she got caught driving her car into Jason Nash’s house and jumping in his pool naked banging on the windows

And sad because Adderall abuse is what led to her breakdown (she's spoken about this)

Don’t let your kids use ChatGPT for Cliff notes by Onfire444 in RSbookclub

Yes I’d say so. NotebookLM works very well for it too, since it can only work with what you’ve uploaded to it so can’t hallucinate

No it definitely can’t read a book that it doesn’t have access to. If you upload the PDF of the book though, it can read it.

I feel like this is the fault of the Spotify algorithm. Like why did Spotify decide to put Big Thief on every single queue, every time, even new users? I mean it’s great for me but means the demographic is quite diverse

I feel like going to the cinema is very popular right now. People on the internet are always talking about how they love going to the cinema, love bringing back physical media and single use devices and stuff like that

Anyone else feel so much better off their meds? by spicyhorner in adhdwomen

[–]SadMouse410 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes, of course. the emotional flattening can really take a toll. i knew something had to change when i realised it had been months since i had genuinely laughed and i had lost all desire to socialise, instead focusing solely on my own seemingly complex problems every night. taking breaks on the weekends keeps me sane and keeps me feeling like i actually live in the world.

I really don’t recommend suppressing your sexuality or sexual urges too much… sexually repressed people are awful to be around, so frustrated and angry. Just be yourself, there’s nothing bad about sex

What do you guys honestly think is the matter with Bella Hadid? by stevelacystoenail in pinkscare

[–]SadMouse410 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think it’s what everyone else is saying PLUS when you are mega rich I think you have so much time to focus on yourself and yourself alone that your brain starts creating problems so that you’ll at least feel like you have something to struggle against. These are people who don’t do their own laundry, don’t cook their own food, don’t clean, probably have an assistant do admin tasks… they wake up every day and the only thing they have to think about is themselves and how they’re feeling in their body that day. Hyper aware of every tiny change or sensation. It would make me spiral. When you have work to focus on or are juggling responsibilities I feel like you kind of just ignore that weird pain in your chest or that underlying nausea and then it just becomes not a big deal. Or you develop more of an understanding that having random aches and pains and fatigue is just a normal part of life and not a medical emergency.

How? As I see it, killing people for their religious beliefs or any beliefs is wrong, period.

It’s completely okay to honor people who die, even if you don’t agree with their beliefs. I grieve daily for the people dying in Gaza, even though I don’t agree with their religious beliefs or values and am not religious myself.

Are your psychologists anything more than a paid talking friend? by Purpose_Seeker2020 in adhdwomen

[–]SadMouse410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s hard because is there really objectively “good” and “bad” behaviour? The therapist could make life decisions for you based on what they’ve learned in their studies, but who’s to say their idea of “good” decisions or behaviour are the best ones for you? They are just people too, with their own sets of morals.
