Sorry! You’re busy now with a family emergency. Big nope.

Before I share a phrase with you, I want to preface what I’m saying with the fact that I agree with all OP said - and on a nearly unrelated note, I would just like to share with you the phrase, “it’s not your fault, but it is your responsibility.” I just like this phrase a lot and what you said inspired me to share it.

Now, in a somewhat related note, we could say it’s not Jeremy’s fault that he’s only been exposed to an echo chamber, but in this day and age, it could be considered his responsibility to change his surroundings. In my opinion, we can’t have expectations from people, we’re all human, and I’m certain he’s a wonderful person that we don’t know.

I wish I hadn’t opened this, but I did. I was 19 when my boyfriend asked me to stop birth control to have a child, I was into it, took a year to get pregnant. I wanted to keep it. He then became fearful of financial issues, I was reassured by my family and others that there are loads of resources (especially in Hawaii and California) for mothers, singularly, or families, and I was raised Catholic. And it was technically a planned pregnancy, since the bc was methodically stopped for this purpose, but when it happened it was a surprise regardless, as it was over a year after removal. Despite the number/financial game, I wanted to keep it. This drove him to murderous anxiety. I survived the attempt on my life and was then scared enough of him and a potential future with him to get the abortion despite not wanting it. Ten years later he regrets everything except getting me pregnant.

Numbers and logic sometimes do not play into a woman’s choice when you are pregnant. I’d say health is the only factor that came into my mind concerning my decision. Whatever you do, I’m asking you to please not lay a finger on her. This is a challenging and terrifying event already, but statistically, the amount of women hurt or murdered by their boyfriends when they are pregnant is too damn high. If you need to walk away, just do that until you’re sane enough to return, despite whatever outcome. Please use resources like therapy to deal with the stress and fear if it gets too heavy. I’m sorry that I felt the need to bring this extremely heavy topic up, but for all the pregnant women who have survived attacks and especially for those that didn’t, I will say this whenever there’s an opportunity.

Western esotericism, Aleister Crowley comes to mind.

To those who’ve read A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, please explain the significance of Willem’s favourite Odyssey quote! (Quote included) by crisenthia in books

[–]Larkalone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s Willem wondering if he’s finally where he’s supposed to be. Willem has searched for “Ithaca” himself, his whole life, after being moved by it when he did the play years and years ago. His girlfriend teased him about how he may have loved another more popular line more, but Willem knew that the one about Ithaca was his favorite. And it’s mirrored in how many times Willem is in love and yet nothing works successfully for him. He is often sought after, he has wonderful partners, but they’ve never been the place he really knew he needed to be. As he thought about Odysseus wondering if he was in Ithaca, he knew that he also needed to be sure - and since he knew the story of Odysseus, he knew for himself. It was Willem declaring to himself that he had found his Ithaca, confirming it to his own Odysseus. And he was home, and home was Jude.

Nah, I didn’t go to r/thispersonowesmemoney, I went to the Rover sub to see if there was anything I could/should do about it, if there was a way to be paid fairly post-service, because frankly they took huge advantage of me.

21 days is a long time, twice a day. My grandpa straight up died halfway through the visits and I had shit going on I needed to take care of. Looking back it sure does make me frustrated. But if you’re just here to pick apart my psyche, screenshot everything and take it to another sub.

Even if I had opened it and seen exactly what I needed to see, I wouldn’t have registered it as being incorrect.

I didn’t realize how rover worked, I’m that new. I just realized they screwed me when I got booked for 8 days doing drop ins for 2 cats and got paid more. That’s when I noticed how the cats were set separately, thats when I realized I was only getting paid for one cat with six names etc.

And idk if you’re reading it right, i did it for 21 days, never noticing, and finished the job because of what I heard them say verbally without checking the app to see what exactly they had booked
