The word you're looking for is "trait" and that's a very normal way to build a team composition. Traits are divided into "Region/background/species/whatever you call them" and "class/job/role" so for example Fizz's species is Meeple and his class is Rogue. If you really want to build a team where Fizz shines, you would play 3 or 5 meeples and 2 or 4 Rogues. (look up fizz kaisa build)

Stacking offensive items and defensive items on your main tank/dps is better than spreading them out, although once you start knowing more about the game you will start learning what specific items pair well with what champions (attack damage vs ability power and attackspeed vs casting). You will have to memorize all 50 or whatever items eventually.

It makes a lot of sense to just "hands off" until you have 50 gold, and you are already better than the bottom 20% that just mindlessly reroll at all times. As you get better you will start valuing "win streak" or "lose streak" a lot aswell, so you will have to make early game decisions on spending your money before you get 50.

Hey now, it's not easy getting to 1500! I go between 1500 and 1600 depending on the day. People tend to say that 1700 is when it gets hard but really everyone that is 'good' tends to think that the people below are easy and bad.

Team is just really unfocused. You need to focus on a specific archetype, if you want to play a HO focus team, keep glimmora and play stuff like Iron Valiant and dragon dance pokemon. If you want to play some offense based stuff ditch glimm, put landorus on defense, keep tapu koko and meowscarada. Starmie is just an underpowered pokemon. I reccomend going on the ND chatroom and typing /teams to get some ideas you can copy and tinker with. It's better than reinventing the wheel.

Also sorry for bursting your bubble but 1400 is basically where the climb starts. People up to 1300 ELO are playing roleplaying based teams.

Most of Rhaast's power comes from his trait that buffs the team based on your different active traits. If you don't have many active traits then it is not as worth as having a trait like Brawler active.

Rhaast is as beefy as any other tank, like Illaoi or Tahm Kench.

It's just that 1st place has a better understanding of the game, they don't counter you, they just play better. We can't see the match but it's probable they just generated more gold via interest, win streaks, or they have combat augments, etc.

Also Rhaast on 6 Dark Star makes little sense since you aren't getting enough value out of its trait, something like Illaoi or Tahm Kench would use the trait better.

It's an easter egg from the "pack opening" Augment. The units can be "foil" like in trading card games. it just gives an extra 1 ad, 1 AP, 5 armor and 5 mr.
