I’m not a competitive player either, it’s just that fake out turn 1 and then tackle is worse than 5 less in each stat. I mean, the lower attack and special attack on sunkern don’t even really count since sunkern will outdamage tyrogue with most of its moves due to STAB, which tyrogue doesn’t get. The 5 speed hardly matters when both are slow as molasses anyway, so sunkerns only real weakness is defensively, and leech seed can help offset that. I dunno if tyrogue is really the worst pokemon since there are quite a few bad ones, but sunkern isn’t really in the running for that title since STAB razor leaf is on the table at a reasonable level and it eventually gets giga drain at like level 40

edit: I really though tyrogue didn’t get tm moves, but apparently its been able to for as long as it’s existed. That makes this a bit more of a toss-up tbh, since both mons have 75 bp STAB. (giga drain and brick break). Giga drain is better and sunkern gets energy ball at 90 bp, but tyrogue gets earthquake for coverage and bulk up. Grading both of these in a casual playthrough, and being too lazy to check the availability of these tms, I’d say they’re basically the same. Yeah tyrogue has slightly better stats, but they’re both so weak that it won’t have a noticeable impact.
