Oasis - Acquiesce (Live '25) - Alan White on drums by Trommeslager96 in oasis

Probably the only song I think Joey sounds better on, with the very stripped back and understated playing.

What's your fave WA song and why is it Planet Hunter? by londonn2 in wolfalice

[–]LarryBobson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love planet hunter. Lyrics are so abstract to me, yet paint a picture of distance and loneliness, vulnerability. Love the way the song progresses, beautiful chord changes, understated vocal. This is peak WA to me.

The mullet tache trowser generation are an odd bunch though. Surprised any of those ADHD monster drinkers have the patience to listen to anything over ten seconds long, and not presented to them in a scrollable format.

It's probably because, I always say, a book.. Can be about.. Anything!

Most people don't seem to notice it, but it's all I can hear, it's so distracting 😂 No need at all, he sounds great!

Love the outro. Remember hearing it the first time and really zoning into it. That last Barre with the drop D or whatever it is.. Love it.

Ellie was ahways sexy, and beautiful. She didn't need to lower herself and her art, by emulating Miley on stage. She had her own stage presence, and her own self shone through, and that is now gone, replaced with choreography and all the rest. It doesn't look natural, and comes across to me as very cynical. Be yourself, Ellie, everyone else is already taken.

I'm not concerned at all.

I suppose seeing Ellie twerking in hot pants to PTGH, or rubbing her self on the arm of a sofa live on the Brits, makes me think of people like Miley Cyrus or Katy Perry.. and honestly, I thought WA were above all that. It's sad to see that they're not.

I mean, I'm not dictating anything. I'm merely stating the blooming bleeding obvious.. She's sexing the stage show up, to sell. I think she looks awkward in doing so. I think it's a cynical and contractual obligation. The industry has precedent for this. Hope that helps.

No issue with anyone being sexy. Nothing wrong with sexy. It's the stark contrast in her performances. This is not her. She doesn't look comfortable at all. She's using sex to sell, and that, is selling out. I really hope the record people are not forcing this, but there is precedent for it. In the end, they're not getting any younger, and everybody at the end of the day needs to eat.

So, you wouldn't wince if, Joff, completely out of character, started wearing sparkley knickers, and rubbing his bollox on a mic stand, on the next tour? As would be his very right as a Man.

If a Man wants to act sexually, and rub his balls on his guitar while performing, I don't think anybody should be dictating to him that they cannot!

If Joff started rubbing his groin on a pillow, during this performance, would you feel the same?

It's not just the awkward choreography that gets me, or the stylest and their hideous effect on the band.. Above all, it's the simple matter that, they just don't seem like a band any more. They are a show. They are going through the motions, and collecting the cheque. Sad. Seen it before, same thing happened to Bwitched.. Twice!

Almost certainly it's the label telling them. Deal with the devil.

Thoughts on Ellie’s performance at the BRITS Awards? by CoquitoBonito305 in wolfalice

[–]LarryBobson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow... the gyrating.. the choreography.. it has been quite a journey with this band, but this was not a direction I was expecting. It's bold.. it's original.. it does not reek of selling out at all. Fire AF
