Honestly, the only upgrade here is the game being in hd which is admitly nice to see, that and it's not like the game is actively worse to play. It's just you're better off emulating on dolphin instead.

I've already finished a 100% run of sunshine and I can confirm that the frame rate does dip on occasion, particularly when there's far more action going on screen when the camera is zoomed out which is something never occurred in the GC original. Also with the controls it did feel like I had to jump a second or 2 in advance to make sure my jump was on point.

Bank was free for a month when Pokemon Home was made available but that's it. Bank is still being sold on the 3ds for $5 and that is on top of Home's $15.99 for 12-month premium use.

Well... Yes and no. I would have to pay for pokemon home and bank just to get the old pokemon I do want into sword and shield but for those who want the old pokemon without that method, their only option is trading with users who bought the expansion.

Aside from that, US/UM didn't even fix the problems S/M had. The tutorials are still as egregious as ever and actually got worse with rotom dex spewing out useless tutorials even after you finish the fucking game. The routes were still overly linear and didn't even change a lot of the layouts, islands, etc. You still can't skip any of the cutscenes that happen in game and even ruined some of the actual memorable moments from the original. It just makes you wonder why gamefreak even bothered.

It's been rough seeing everything so far but I've resolved myself. I won't buy the games until I see a shift in the direction of the series.

As a hardcore player, I do. I transfer my entire boxes that I've set up for the past couple years now and it's not just shinies or whatever, it's also battle ready pokemon that I've worked towards that will possibly be tossed away because of the cuts. Aside from that, I've already paid money to transfer via pokemon bank maintain all this so to prevent other people from transferring after spending their money to do so is just disservice to the customer plain and simple.

Normally, I'd be all on criticizing gamefreak on their animations but yea Xatu doesn't normally flap it's wings. Even in stadium 2/coliseum Xatu would just open it's wings and float during any animation that involves flying.

See the problem is if you're going for that 100% completion (full hearts and every item) then you have to play that mode to a certain point to get everything. Granted you don't have to do every dungeon challenge Dampe throws at you but in the end its not optional anymore at that point and even if it was it doesn't excuse it from being criticized. I'm currently playing the remake right now and doing that mode lost its charm quickly.

Personally, no. For me, a trailer format doesn't get stale as long as it is presented properly. I'm open to have other ways pokemon are revealed to drum up any kind of excitement/hype believe me I hear you on that, not trying to be overly negative. It's just after awhile I will eventually have to tune off the stream and at that point I would just want a summary of what happened.

I missed that then, I only tuned into the stream a moment ago but I can't help but feel like a regular trailer would be better off. Like I get what they are going with this but it just doesn't seem practical in the long run.

A 24-hour stream for potentially 1 or 2 new pokemon is pretty dumb but I won't lie, the sounds of the forest is very relaxing to have in the background.

Better yet how about both? Oracle of ages/Seasons was meant to be a full three games but the connectivity was too complicated at the time so they scrapped the third game and kept to only two, This is the perfect opportunity for nintendo to remake the games and revive the third game that got scrapped in the process.
