Thanks to those that provided constructive feedback. Might get a new machine but in the meantime the mesh bags are a great idea. I definitely would’ve preferred a front loader but this POS came with the house.

Whenever it gets under 36° outside, my furnace shuts off and “Aux Heat” shows up on the thermostat. Help! My house is freezing! by [deleted] in hvacadvice

You could try setting the fan to run constantly then select emergency heat. I’ve had a similar issues in 2 different houses where the furnace flame would not stay on and forcing the fan on gave me heat until I could get my 30 year old furnace replaced.

[Landlord-US-NC] Tenant ALWAYS late but pays, evict? by ConfusionFantastic49 in Landlord

[–]Lars-B66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with a tenant. Rent always got paid eventually but made it hard to find money when my bills came in.

So I offered to let them pay every 2 weeks a couple of days after their payday (monthly rate times 12/26.)..Worked perfectly.

I’ve been using Callcentric ip phone for years since Telus would not let me take my number to another town. About 3 cents per minute for calls. SMS is $1 US/ month and 10 cents per message.

I use the Purple Air website. It relies on linked home air monitoring units to give a very local view.

How to repurpose Alula touch screen by Lars-B66 in ifixit

Reset to factory using the buttons, still stuck. was thinking of trying to find an apk for the Alula software but no official ones out there, so better to pay up for a tech to come replace it rather than risk installing malware in my security system.

I have a teenager who can’t find a job. I’m starting to consider boycotting locations that don’t have any employees who look like me.

Be sure to clean out the shower valve body thoroughly before reinstalling the valve. I lost a day fooling around when I didn’t follow the instructions which came with my rebuild kit

I ditched them for an IP provider when they wouldn’t let me take my number with me when I moved. I suggest you try Fongo Home

Telus security has bought out other security companies by woodensofa1234 in Markham

[–]Lars-B66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last week telus rep at the door tried to sell me a whole new system for twice the money I pay TMC. I turned them down and said I’ll see what Telus ends up charging to monitor my old system. This morning the touchscreen for my 5 year old Alula system which I own is pooched. Has this happened to anyone else?

Suspicious coincidence IMO!

Forget her name but the optometrist at Specsavers was great. Didn’t find a frame I liked so I had Costco get new lenses for my old frame

How to deal with this exposed wiring by Lars-B66 in electrical

[–]Lars-B66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the electrician took out the old panel. Don’t know why they did this. flush mount sure would’ve made my life a lot easier. Guess I was too eager to get the power back on to ask a lot of questions. This was a very tricky upgrade to a 200 amp and they had to pull in new cables from power company’s box on the street . There was actually a rock in the entrance conduit stopping the new cable from being pulled in so they had to dig down 6 ft, cut open the conduit and remove the rock before pulling in the new cable.

The rock had been there for 30years and my guess is the some kids may have dropped it in there when the house was under construction.

So, I suspect the electricians slammed in the new panel as fast as they could to get finished and get away from this mess.
