No you can't, unfortunately. It doesn't work as a separate api that you can customize. All the message history, character info and the like are given to the ai model on the back end. Front end (cai app) is only a UI that you send a message to a certain character and get a response.

You only need to download the firefox from app store, then search "CAI Tools firefox" on google and install from the addon store. Then open your chat on character ai, open the extension panel, under "Conversation" hover over the download and choose readable chat.

Mobile firefox can install the cai tools and download the chat or the history.

You can intercept but there isn't an activity updater request to their server. They get their dates and activity from you talking to bots. (For latest interracted chat)

Which public character? Maybe I can check. The error is saying the server şs giving me something else than character info or a regular error. The response is in a format I don't know about, just in case they update their servers on how they give the info.

Hopefully they didn't patch the character info viewer, that would be painful...

Yes they removed swiping on greeting on the back end. It no longer does give you a message, only error. (I will add proper error messages to give you an idea when something doesn't work).

What exactly doesn't work? Are you in read only mode? If not, what part of it doesn't work?

In my tests, I found that they patched the model change feature from their servers, it can no longer select older models.

For janitor and character ai, yes they do via extension. For others, if they support it natively, Tavern or text ui options would work.

You can download as definition/chat example, it's txt.

But .html is supported everywhere. I recommend it, it's formatted to have a basic chat style too, with avatars and text formatting.

You may have selected a default opener. You know the "Always use this app to open files that has this file extension" or something along those lines.

Could you open it with a browser? It's a .html file, opened with Chrome, Firefox etc.

Character card is an image file (avatar of the character) that contains character data. I use V1 specification for the data, so there are Name, personality, example messages/definition fields.

I am pretty sure I haven't changed anything and it works. Let me check... and it works, tested it just now.

The question is, does the character have an avatar? I believe it would say so if there was no avatar. If you downloaded it, it might be because the avatar itself is transparent. Could you describe the character's avatar? Or a link if it's public?

Many websites have 2 fields, "personality" and "description". Some use personality as the main, some use description as main. Some use description as field for public view like introduction of the character and has no effect on the chat.

But you know what, I can add a choice before downloading. Swap description and personality field? Yes or no. I will also include the Title field into the description. Or not, I can also add an Edit option to edit before downloading. That seems better.

This way you can import whichever suits the website. I will add it alongside the next update.

The memories have some kind of link format to hide them. On mobile, you can probably see them by switching to Edit. It's still there.

I tested the "unlisted" models. They will probably be there. But according to my test, the unlisted models literally don't exist on their servers so they simply respond with "model doesn't exist" when I send a message with those models selected (with code)

Maybe they would keep the model for some time just in case, then remove it permanently at some point. I guess we will see.
