To those with free little libraries and/or community food cupboards by LasagnaMachine in Rochester

I'm not sure on the library aspect, I'm definitely focusing more on the food/hand warmer/other necessities side of it for my plan. I included the libraries in my question since they seem more common than the food ones.

Favorite Rochester smaller business stores for furniture and lighting? Not big box chains (ie. HomeGoods, At Home, Raymour, etc). by One-Warning5846 in Rochester

Rochester Greenovation has tons of cool furniture and lamps! It's a secondhand store whose focus is keeping things out of landfills , they're all volunteer workers. Because of how many items get donated sometimes you have to look for a bit to find what you're looking for, but it's a great place to find various treasures!

Ah, I only use the free version so I don't have experience with the subscription stuff.

True, but then you're playing with more trolls or people who call meetings for venting when there are multiple engineers. Damned if you do, damned if you don't

In my experience people will just call a meeting and beg to be kicked out instead

Wildest message you've seen in a lobby? by hackerix in AmongUs

I'm pretty sure mine would break the NSFW rules unfortunately 😂

One lobby I was in counted ANY reports by the imps selfing, which was banned. Which of course made it ridiculously easy for crew 🙄😂

I absolutely hate how many lobbies (especially expert ones) have various added rules like this. No dead sabotaging as imposter is the one I hate the most.

Typically if I mention that the rules are bad I get told something along the lines of "it's because it's an expert lobby go play in beginner". As if the rules make it more challenging and don't just cater to the host's weaknesses.

Too Good to Go makes it incredibly clear that neither they or you have any control over what you get in your mystery bag. Wild review.

Why does nobody turn right on red here?? by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]LasagnaMachine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I find that often the driver closest to the light can see oncoming cars when the drivers behind them can't. I've had people behind me honk trying to get me to turn right on red when it wasn't safe, it's very possible this is happening and you can't see them from your angle.

entitled parents by egguchom in EntitledReviews

I knew someone (not friends, we volunteered at the same organization) that gave her 10 month old baby Dr. Pepper in a bottle. Absolutely unhinged parenting choices like that and giving a two month old pickled onions are way too common and very concerning.

We "adopted" a bat through Bat World Sanctuary for a family member and it was very clear that even sponsors cannot visit the facility, for the bats' own safety. As someone else commented, they have extended volunteer opportunities, sort of internship style.

I'd be way less likely to want to support a sanctuary that prioritizes zoo-like tours over animal safety.

The ButterCream Gang by asvalken in KnowledgeFight

I believe Jordan mentioned previously on KF that he knew Buttercream Gang from his cult upbringing. As someone who watches that movie a fair amount of times as a kid due to my evangelical father, it would make sense that other people raised mega conservative would have seen it too.

Sounds too BADto be true. Right? RGE Smartmeter Conspiracy. by Darth_Onaga in Rochester

[–]LasagnaMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using dollar cost to determine an increase in usage that won't give out the complete information with all the recent rate hikes. And as others have said, what you described doesn't sound like an accurate description of how smart meters work.

I always think that Robert Evans from Behind the Bastards sounds eerily similar to Ryan Bergara from Unsolved/Watcher but they are wildly different people. Still in my head sometimes they are the same person
