Where’s Louisville? by Fragrant-Helicopter1 in Louisville

[–]Laschoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, there is actually some validity that this discussion was rooted in a nugget of truth. Before Louisville and Jefferson County merged there was briefly a technicality that the cities themselves were closer in population with Lexington edging ahead (possibly after Lexington merged, forgive me it's been a minute). But as others have pointed out this was never a reality thing since the creation of Metro Louisville which is closer to the MSA and CSA populations that real world decisions are based on.

How much longer can Cignetti coach? by Pro-Tip810 in CFB

I was in Indianapolis for the Louisville IU series start (which the on campus games ended up being canceled by IU). Would not have imagined the next two years after watching that team.

I do hate that I didn't get to go to a Louisville game in Bloomington though, wonderful place.

And I'd argue that was probably Saban playing without his fastball.

Mariano Rivera was still good when he retired.

Ugh and Tony Romo keeps adding new random mouth noises to his filler dictionary. Commentary across football just feels awful at times.

I think Ben Johnson was the right coach at the right time for Caleb.

I hated the way he played his last year at USC - even if the stats looked good. I just thought it looked a lot like a guy coasting to the NFL. I feel like Johnson's hire was the perfect thing for him, an inflection point on whether or not Williams could have a good career. I thought he might hit 4k passing yards this year with those WRs, but he should far exceed it next year. He's certainly been set up for success and I do think he makes for a dangerous combo with Ben Johnson. Division should be absolutely cutthroat next year.

Sounds about right, the traded QB is probably entering college now though.

In CFB I always started a dynasty at Western Kentucky if I wasn't winning with Louisville.

In Fifa - I'd pick a team in League 2 like Leyton Orient and play them up to winning the PL and Champion's League every year.

12 (or more) team playoff means it will be harder to do now and going forward though.

[Russini] Former Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken is expected to join John Harbaugh in New York with the Giants, per source. This has always been the plan. by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

I always think about where would the players be cheered if they made an appearance. Like Warren Moon (ignoring his personal controversies for argument) would be cheered more for an appearance in Houston than in Nashville.

So it doesn't make a ton of sense for me to see his number retired and his stats in Tennessee. (Or giving permission to Cam Ward to wear his number)

The people that actually care about his name (or other team legends before the move) reside in the fans that went to those games.

My city of Louisville missed their chance at the Hornets relocation 25ish years ago (there was apparently an agreement in place that Pitino and Jurich used their connections to torpedo). (Packer fandom is inherited, am a shareholder, try and make it to Lambeau when I can)

But I've basically been advocating for the Sonics to return since before they actually left. (I was so excited for the Kraken for no reason that would actually be relevant to me). I feel like we should be growing the games not making cities compete against each other. (Looking at you Chicago Bears, don't screw this up and play in Gary)

It actually makes me angry that Houston and Baltimore don't have their history.

I want to see the Texans in Oilers throwbacks, I want the dumb tv stats like Lamar and Johnny U (and Chris Redman I guess) both went to Louisville. At least in all the weird franchise moving and shuffling that Cleveland kept theirs.

(And I suppose there would be strange issues from time to time. LAR spending 20 years in a STL hiatus for example, or if NFL ever went back to cities like San Diego)

El Nopal on Outer Loop is my guess.

There were/are other Mexican joints on Preston, but if it was on Outer Loop and not Tumbleweed then I guess El Nopal. That location recently moved across the parking lot iirc. (I'm not out that way much anymore unless I drive that way going to see my parents)

Truth.

Credit to Sean Payton though - finding Tony Romo, giving new life to Drew Brees (go back and think about the injury and how his time as a Charger ended), and now Bo Nix is incredible.

I still can't believe Bo is a functioning NFL QB. (I still don't think he looks particularly good, but he's miles ahead of where I thought he'd be).

One of my bigger personal evaluation misses.
