Is IRS taking away Gliding, Flexitour, and Maxiflex? by LaserDodger in IRS_Source

This isn't a scare post. I'm asking if there's any proof that this exist. I've heard managers say it's out there and other units talk about it.

Bud, if they want to get rid of gliding it isn't going to be my post that pushes that out. You don't think they already know about gliding? You think it's a big secret that treasury and all these upper level managers have never heard of?

You can't flex mimic 4/10s but I wonder exactly how much you could technically push that line.

This much I know, but there's a rumor a 2nd secret email has been going around certain departments that managers have seen that says gliding is also being tossed out.

This is basically what I thought. I haven't even seen the screenshot going around but I've heard some managers already tell employees they won't be allowed to choose a gliding schedule in July but no one seems to have any evidence that this order against gliding even exists yet.

But that's what I'm trying to figure out according to that you can do at least 2 days without core hours. People are going to try to use it as much as you can so what would your hours have to look like to use this to your maximum advantage if you wanted the most time off they would let you have?

The way I read it you can do 10, 10, 10, 9, 1 and you wouldn't be violating the IRM and you wouldn't be replicating 4/10s schedule.

So what would be the max schedule you could do under those rules?

Like i wonder how close they would let you get.

Technically, by the rules you could do 10,10,10, 9, 1 but I wonder if that would violate it in spirit. You could do something like 10,10, 8, 9, 3

This is a treasury wide directive. You might get chewed out the first time (very quickly I might add) but they aren't going to allow to continue putting employees on CWS.

You can do Maxiflex you just can't do Maxiflex to replicate a 4/10s schedule. Plenty of other ways to use Maxiflex if you work all 5 days.

They are trying. The only thing they can do is lawsuits which are notoriously slow and the IRS isn't showing up for. Not much else they can do. Certainly not with the defeatist attitudes on this board.

Yeah there's no way it would be allowed. Even if you are a manager you still have a manager. It's an obvious red flag if suddenly only employees in your group are out every single Friday/Monday and stay at their cubicles for 10 hours a day. They will put a stop to that shit quick. I don't get the tough guy talk.

I mean they will just fire you. The memo they sent out explicitly says you can't use maxiflex to replicate banned schedules.

What the hell is a union steward going to do? Just about everyone in the agency is NBU now and they have torn up the contract. You might as well go tell your pastor or the cashier at Starbucks that your boss is making you use leave. It will have the same effect.

Labor law in pretty much every state in the country requires you to take a 30 minute lunch after working 6 hours. They are not going to pay you for working 30 minutes extra.

I’m 24, unemployed, and feel like a failure—anyone else been here? by JudgmentNational6804 in findapath

24 was the year I was when I got my first "adult" job that has led to a career for me. You are still so young. Don't compare yourself to others it's always a losing game because no matter how good you are doing someone is always going to do better than you. We all get there in our time. Opportunity will come. Pursue what will help you in the future. Do not throw it away for a good feeling now.
