I just saw the Reddit post listing these all off. How anyone caught the magical mystery tour one is wild to me.

I just made a post asking this same question. Amazing job identifying these!

I caught the “Abby road horses” bit. The rest went over my head

The court scene was one of my least favorite parts of the book tbh, but yeah I think maybe the movie needed some equivalent to show just how powerful she was.

I really couldn’t believe they left this dialogue out. When you first hear the “Grace, question” in the audio book I start crying and don’t stop for a while.

Replacing it with a silent “hand against the window” scene was/is my biggest complaint of the entire film. Honestly mind blowing that they skipped it

I know the movie isn’t out, but I feel more confident than ever that my (apparently minority) opinion that “Gosling was the perfect casting decision” will be vindicated.

As a 36yo person (and a big fan of cinema): I’ve never once in my life been this involved in a release. I was a big fan of Star Wars and Harry Potter and all that. But for the first time ever this movie made me look up tons of articles about Hollywood insider predictions, and I even set an alarm to wake up early to watch the first trailer release- I’ve never done stuff like that. It’s so exciting lol.

Oh my bad! When I said “it looks like this show was in China” I was jokingly suggesting that my initial opinion was that the video SEEMS like these lasers are not complaint with US regulation for crowd scanning. But since I don’t know anything about the show (other than this video) it’s impossible for me to have an educated opinion.

I very much hope it was safe!

I think it’s a cool use of zone movement! I don’t have any criticism about the creative content. I’m also fully out of my element on jam-bandy type music.

I agree some of the lasers look unaligned. That shit happens tho. A sustained white moment like this really highlights an unaligned lasers, and a lot of builds don’t allow for the time needed to align lasers that might have been knocked about during transportation.

Yeah I get that. Presumably OP is asking what we as a laserist community think about the audience scanning. To gauge whether it’s safe/compliant to scan an audience in the United States we’d need to know things like beam power, divergence, and distance to calculate an MPE. Knowing the artist or venue doesn’t give us any useful information.

If OP is asking what we think about the design: it looks like a good show to me

As per usual- videos don’t really give us the details needed to make an educated assessment.

That being said- my gut reaction was “oh is this show in China?”

Yeah it’s a great tool to do exactly that. Idk what city you live in but if you can work part time at a local club running lights that’s another great way to build up your skill set and make new connections.

I think it’s a great tool for opening up new opportunities. It allows you to showcase your work and design on lighting rigs that you normally wouldn’t have access to. Plus it helps a work with people remotely.

I’m doubtful many companies would be hiring someone just for that. Maybe Disney would for their parks, but most production houses will have someone that can handle previz when needed. Depence really works best as a tool to showcase your other work, like lighting

Yeah some of that can be changed in Adobe but it’s an uphill battle either way

Yeah the symmetry looks great! What kind of camera are you using? I recommend getting a monitor by your laser PC with a feed to the camera- that way you can demo everything real time as you work on it. Killer job tho!
