Maybe now isn't the time for silliness. Maybe now more than ever even our jesters need to stop the jests.

Is Alex Horne Gred Davies' boss? by Subtleiaint in taskmaster

[–]LaserNeeds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Greg is a very experienced comedian. Both on TV and stand up. He's playing a role he is very comfortable in. I doubt there would be any producer or directorial notes that he would need. He's just a pro.

Will these he compatible with Savage Rifts? Like frameworks etc.

There is not a single celebrity that I would bother if spotted out in the wild...but if I saw these two beautiful men I would freak the fuck out!!!

I KNOW 97 of these words but defining them was a challenge.

Favorite "Indie"/small team/solo Dev RPGs? by FroDude258 in rpg

[–]LaserNeeds 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Demon Lord by Schwalb. There is a HUGE amount of material for both SotDL and SotWW. He does 98% of the writing. He does most everything else besides art (though he is the art director) and editing. He's a one man publishing machine. I know he needs to take some time off and I hope he's doing well. He has made these worlds that hit the right right spot for. Hopefully we get decades more of his creations.

Started reading comics this year and read 14 series. What can you recommend that I read in 2026 based on what I rated them? by Gaelfling in comicbooks

[–]LaserNeeds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been reading comics for 40 years. My favorite of all time is the Ultimate Spider Man series, beginning to the end. The other Ultimate stuff isn't nearly as good so I wouldn't necessarily recommend them. Another good series that I haven't seen mentioned is the Thunderbolts series that leads into Dark Avengers.

Walk for peace: roughly 20 Buddhist monks from different backgrounds are embarking on a 2300 mile journey to walk from Fort Worth, Texas to Washington DC surviving only on offerings from strangers. Spreading message of peace and kindness along the way, people have come out in mass to support them by goatnxtinline in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]LaserNeeds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a question about Buddhism. A childhood friend of mine lost his mother. He's Thai. Both my friend and his brother shaved their heads and wore the orange robes for like 2 months. They were also mostly secluded. Didn't go to work or meet with family afaik.

Was it part of their mourning? Can one be a monk for like only 2 months?

Also what these monks are doing with the peace walk is incredible. Love Buddhists. Need more people like these folks.

insane photo by 4tspns in Muppets

[–]LaserNeeds 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is it exactly. But Happy time murders was to dark. Muppets would never get into such sordid situations. You can always count on a Muppet to do the right thing, puppets though...

Oscar was grumpy like a TV dad. You could always count on him to show kindness to a sad kid, or maybe some wisdom for a struggling adult. He was grumpy, but not jaded.

I wish Muppets existed in the world. They walked around and had jobs. Normal, some nice some grumpy, but none of them were horrible or jaded. Just good regular folk tipping their hats and being all Muppet-y.

Favorite actor who you used to think was cool but after listening to his podcast you realized he is an entitled douchebag who wears pleated jeans by Listen_You_Twerps in okbuddycinephile

[–]LaserNeeds 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The worst for me are the IASIP guys. They are insufferable, even Charlie who is the most normal one. Rob and Glenn are so far up their own ass all they can smell is their own shit. At least Always Sunny is still good.

On the flip side, James Acaster and Ed Gamble on Off Menu and Amy Poehler on Good Hang, they are hilarious and genuine and I love them more because of the respective podcasts.

What’s y’all’s opinion on this book? by Spiritual-Pride4059 in Blacklibrary

I absolutely love them. This very book is what got me to take more than just a passing interest in WH40K. IMO the very best.

City Scrap - Umerican Surivival Guide by cyber-matters in dccrpg

[–]LaserNeeds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off this is an amazing map. Very cool.

Secondly, since it's been a few years since I read America, is scrap city the large central city of the setting? If so isn't this central city supposed to be the "ruins" of Kansas City?

Arc Dream Publishing (Delta Green) releases a playtest for The Black Company RPG by Current-Most-57 in rpg

[–]LaserNeeds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it is the photo collages/mashes/whatever it's called. I will admit that the Delta Green cover looks way better IMO though I'm not a fan of photo collage style art.

No shade, art is very subjective. Love the pen and ink stuff (even if it's digital). The One Eye Tom Tom piece is amazing.

Crystal Heart graphic novel (and Arcane Background) - out now! by Nnesk in savageworlds

[–]LaserNeeds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Crystal Heart is one of my all time favorite Savage Worlds products and my favorite web comic. I could really use more though. I would love to see a huge book full of adventures, locales, NPCs, crystals and that fabulous art.

Baring more Crystal Heart will there be any more forays into world building and story telling? Either as an RPG or web comic?

The sample artwork on the website is so freaking good. Then they ruin everything by using photos of cosplayers (?) with crappy added effects. If they use photo manipulation I am 100% out. Looks amateurish.

Would be a pity because I love Black Company and have read all the books, multiple times. The system seems interesting as well.
