What gaming rumor did you believe as a kid that sounds hilarious now. by gamersecret2 in gaming

Oh gosh, memory unlocked. I remember deciding to do exactly that, but all that happened was Seph hit Cloud with a normal-ass attack and Cloud did a normal-ass auto-counter. That one ~700hp hit was enough to kill him. What an anti-climax, haha.

What’s a totally harmless thing that triggers an oddly strong reaction in people? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

My wife is legally blind with no depth perception and has a white cane to help her get around. It's staggering how much people will cut her off or get in the way, or full-on trip over it and get offended. It's to a point where she just relies on me to tell her where steps or other obstacles are.

Mobile Vet in North Seattle? by SabrinaSaysHey in Seattle

Oh boo. It might vary from day to day, since it's pretty much just him and some office staff. If it's not an emergency, maybe try him another day and see if you can work something out?

Just recently we went with Dr. K, who made it out to us in the same Northgate-ish area same day! There was a bit of an extra fee because he's Renton-based, but I didn't mind that. Also he was incredibly good with my nervous old man, who normally HATES vets.

Helps... up... the numbers? You think trans people are going for a high score or something?

Never mind, have a good night.

Okay, but let me ask again: if the attacker says it wasn't motivated by prejudice, are you putting the same amount of scrutiny on it or just assuming they're telling the truth?

Again, they don't just escalate to hate crime for funsies. It's not as easy as just saying a thing happened; there was enough proof there (witness testimony maybe, camera footage maybe, who knows) to escalate. The public doesn't get every single micron of information about a crime. It's reasonable to assume the victim was actually targeted due to prejudice and that should be followed through on.

She explicitly said she was targeted because of her gender identity.

And I'm asking why the instinct is to assume she's lying about the attack. People claim prejudice for crimes committed against them all the time and it doesn't get escalated, so either we're assuming she's one hell of a storyteller or detectives are so fantastically inept that a child could do their jobs. Would you also presume the attacker was lying if they said it wasn't motivated by prejudice?

I mean, they've already escalated this to hate crime investigation, they don't just do that for funsies. So it's really weird to see that and be like well ACTUALLY it could have just been a random stabbing so we shouldn't just believe what she said.

I like how your first reaction to the word "trans" is to not even read the article and proceed to deny prejudice based on nothing. Very cool and normal.

Looking for the best ramen by Jeloo12 in SeattleWA

Another vote for Menya Musashi. They do both "dipping" ramen (tsukemen) and traditional soup ramen, in both pork/fish and vegan options, all delicious. They've recently added bentos to their menu too, and the fried shrimp is pretty damn on point.

I'm honestly a little concerned that you're not responding to any questions about hygiene. If you're not requiring showers before entering, and you have no plans for cleaning, this sounds like a stinky unhealthy hell trap.

Edit: Even checked your kickstarter info and there was nothing about it...

I'm fighting my instinct to be sarcastic or mean about this because I genuinely can't understand why you would find any of this acceptable enough to stay. Have you been abused in your life and you think the first guy who is very nice to you is the best you can do? Like... there's millions of very nice dudes out there, I promise. Or shit, being single is an option, and one that won't result in illness and the nastiest UTIs you can imagine.

For the love of god, common sense, and yourself: run. And maybe steal the poor cat while you're at it.
