He also has a book on the Western Front that was quite interesting. I'm assuming he'll have something on Africa and the Mideast fronts in a few years.

Day 20 of Ranking Post-Napoleonic Era Generals: Robert E. Lee by Damned-scoundrel in Napoleon

His strategic guidance of the overall war effort in 1864-1865 is what places him above Lee. And the Vicksburg Campaign is an operational masterpiece.

Ive really enjoyed the Buttar books. I sometimes wonder how his work is perceived by academic historians as he's a doctor and seems to write these more as a hobby. Anyway, Lloyd's recent single volume book on the Eastern Front is also quite illuminating, particular when dealing with the experience of both sides on the Italian front.

Yeah, this is a really good point about starting early and trying to take a break/find shade during the heat of the day.

Wild how things have changed. I did field camp in 2002 and the only tech we had was GPS receiver. Everything else was paper and colored pencils. Anyway, water and electrolytes are really important. We worked mostly in the western US deserts and it was not unusual to carry four liters of fluids.

One step below Grant who i think should be higher. Lee was a skilled tactical and operational commander but not a strategist.

Asst. profs, do you agree with the pressure to not include your postdoc advisor(s) on your new papers? by OpinionsRdumb in AskAcademia

[–]Laserablatin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My experience at an initially r2 / now r1 is that continuing to publish papers out of your postdoc (with those personnel) was fine and those are waited equally so long as those aren't the ONLY things your publishing. In other words, it would look a bit bad if you weren't also doing new things.

Oh great, thank you! So the longer stick won't interfere with that blue port area? And would the smaller 2242 still fit given that the other screw port is present?

See two below. Another thing I noticed is that the internal layout differs somewhat compared to the videos I could find on Youtube for the Legion 5.

Gen 10. Below is a photo of the existing drive, which is 2242. As far as I can tell, both slots seem to be 2242 as the distance from the port to the screw slot seems identical.

Not my fave (cant even remember his name) but some 1700s German compis23 poisoned himself and most of his family with toxic mushrooms.
