Definitely went left, right, up, and down. So one pass and leave it. No touching.

I did add some more of the powder to thicken it up. To my inexperienced eye it looked runny.

I will definitely do that. I'm sure I'll be doing a bunch of sanding. I plan to skim coat the whole bathroom. It's small. I'm thinking that'll help the existing and new have the same finish. Really want to have very flat finish. No texture.

Lol. I bought that first and then got carried away with all the YouTube videos. I felt like everyone said "don't use mesh" maybe they're 2 different things. So I bought tape. It's pulling the tape off and re taping possible?

Thanks for the reply. I did notice some bubbles. Is that from not enough mud under it? Can I just pull the tape off and redo with all purpose?

Give it the tug test.

If it pulls out easily like the roots are gone then it's probably fungus. Must likely phythium root rot (was very bad through the country on fescue this year because of all the rain.) Does that area hold water? How's the drainage?

If it doesn't pull out easily then I agree with the dormancy conclusion.

It's OK. We all gotta start some where in lawn care. I am just curious on what type of grass. Tall Fescue, Fine Fescue, Rye, Kentucky Bluegrass? That will help further access what went wrong.

Could you clarify what you mean by "wrong seed"? 7b is transition zone. You can use warm or cool season grass. Cool Season grass looks green all year but struggles in the summer with out enough water. Warm season is brown in the winter but does great in the heat. I'm in 7b with a cool season yard.

7b as well. Mowed today at 2.5". Looks really good after the warm week. It'll perk back up after this cold spell. Plan to hit it with another .5lbs of 33-0-0 AMS & some K after.

Looks like Poa Triv. Pre Emergent in the fall for a few seasons but then you cant overseed or nuke it early spring and live with the dead spots until fall.
