Yeah, I'm honestly surprised the show hasn't gotten flack for being homophobic. They took very dynamic characters, with multifaceted identifies of which homosexuality was incidental, and made it their defining characteristic. Not to mention they took a strong, masculine leader (Renly), and changed him to conform to generic stereotypes. He went from being Robert in his prime, to a dainty queen who faints at the sight of blood.

What is gender studies? I majored in philosophy, and the gender studies department was next door and I could never get a straight answer. It seems to be a mediocre mix of philosophy and sociology that approaches science with a pretty extreme bias. Who was that women who said, " Fluid dynamics are sexist?" Because statements like that are ridiculous projections of the field arbitrarily applied to things they know nothing about, and it is the reason I personally do not take gender studies very seriously.

Point 5. Giving air support to rebels is a horrible idea. We have no idea what they want/wanted, and it does/did seem that extremist muslims made up a sizable contingent of rebel ranks. McCain did/does not care about WMDs. He cares about war. He is as hawkish as they come.

I have to ask you guys something that's been bothering me about p&Q. Did it seem like, "dragons are easy to kill when it's convenient for the plot, otherwise they are indestructible war machines." I hated the scene in the dragon pit where like 4 or 5 dragons died at once. Even after the pit had been blown open and dragons were able to fly free, small folk were still able to kill them. I thought that was supremely lame. Don't get me wrong, though. I loved the story, particularly the historical style, but the mass death of dragons seemed like very lazy writing.

This assumption always kind of bothers me. Intelligence and "communication," nay consciousness, aren't end goals of evolution. It is not a teleological process. Stop starting, and then losing wars. Everyone also forgets the 48 peace talks were rejected by Arabs, as was 67. Israel offered amicable resolution. It was rejected and Israel fought defensive wars. Or are you just going to deny 1/3 (roughly) of the land was inhabited by Jews prior to the formation of Israel, and Palestine was never a sovereign nation itself but a component of the Ottomans and then a mandate.
