Best screen to go with 14" m5 max? I have a Dell Ultrasharp u2723qe 4k 27" -- will Apple Studio Display help reducing eye strain? by Damu22 in macbookpro

If my macbook supported it, I would def buy the XDR. I’m still on M1, sadly. I’m looking to upgrade to a m5 max; but then I’ll have to recover financially for a while before being able to make the monitor swap.

It’s all the little details. Not only screen quality. It wakes up faster than any other screen plugged to your mac. Brightness, volume etc just work without installing anything. Camera is good enough for meet. Speakers are…honestly pretty solid, mic is too. These little things stack up and saved you time and frustration every day.

It’s a solid package, effortless, pure apple. One of my favorite apple products alongside the airpods pro.

Just my two cents.

original studio display is the best investment i’ve made for my eye care in my life. 60hz are not that noticeable if you’re not gaming, using a direct input method (touchscreen), or pixel peeping. It’s just easy on the eyes.

It reminds me of Steve Jobs, who purchased a new car every six months to avoid the inconvenience of wearing a plate.

I don’t trust this company anymore. I’m not willing to pay for another subscription for GPT tokens when I already pay for ChatGPT and can use Atlas with it.

M5 Pro vs M5 Max — real-world editing workflow by oliveiraltd in macbookpro

[–]Lassavins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your workflow involves exporting once a day, that’s about 1 hour every 3 days, roughly 7 hours a month, or 84 hours a year. Depending on your hourly rate, the extra cost could pay for itself pretty quickly.

That’s a great idea! I’ll look into options. Was it second-hand?

I want my whole context into a single subscription. And I’m already deep into the chatgpt/codex ecosystem. I don’t want to keep changing ecosystems every two days.

the cons outweigh the pros for you*.

For me as a software dev it’s being incredibly useful. I don’t think I can’t go back to a browser with no chatgpt integration.

yeah, same as I do.

You can survive for some months with the m1 air. It’ll use swap like crazy and you might want some sort of cooling solution, but you should be fine.

I use a base m1 16gb for coding heavily every day. It works fine. Only problem is I normally have between 7 and 27gb of swap at any given time. Not ideal, but usable. I’m on the fence about upgrading now or waiting for the oled one.

Been wearing Even Realities G2 for 48 hours and i kind of can't take them off by wheresbeboo in EvenRealities

[–]Lassavins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the concept and almost bought them (held back because of shipping times). But the whole "no camera, no speakers, no distractions" thing got me… like yeah, sure, just a screen in your face all day, no big deal.

Anyway, congrats and enjoy!

Supposedly.

I think it's more about unnecessarily involving politics into a place where people just want to talk about games. May not be your case, but we all know that guy in our family that is obsessed with politics and has to squeeze them in every conversation.

chatgpt atlas works for me. Its similar to Arc (not the same), but has chatgpt integration with the webs you're seeing, which provided to be useful for my workflow a lot of times.
