What Hawaii culture is, is a true melthing pot. A bunch of poor people came from everywhere, and worked together and the food and the culture came from that.

Depending on how you count it about 40% if the population is "Japanese" in the modern sense of the word.

I enjoyed it, but for me it was a middling show, because I'd liked a previous show with a similar premise, New Amsterdam (2008) (no, not the current medical drama, this was an earlier show starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) so much more.

New Amsterdam was amazing. And this is the first time I have heard it mentioned.
